Adding 2 x 175cm players in one draft when we are crying out for KPFs would be the most Fremantle thing ever.Interesting that Corey Durdin said we've shown a fair bit of interest in him.
I'd be fairly confident in saying he'll be a better player than the majority of our sub 180cm players, he's been a star junior for a few years now. But surely we wouldn't add both Western and Durdin - even though I rate Durdin higher.

I fully expect it to happen.
I dont see it that way - Henry, Walters, Schultz, Switta - then add Western. Thats plenty. We're equally as desperate for quality small forwards imo.

100%Quality is the key word there.
At some point, your small forwards have to actually kick goals.
I don't have a ruck on our list of needs, and a tall forward is not a pressing need.Chris25 - can you explain to me why we HAVE to match a bid on Western? The guy is 172cm. Very few players of that size make it in the modern game.
We need tall forwards and a developing ruck goddamit.
We've also reportedly shown interest in Seamus Mitchell, so we're definitely looking for some forward quality.Interesting that Corey Durdin said we've shown a fair bit of interest in him.

Tall forward is most definately a pressing need. If Tabs goes down then we are left with what?- stop gap measures like Lobb who has never excelled in the position or Cox who prefers to be a defender. Sorry to sound like a broken gramaphone recording but I cannot see how anybody can look past the glaring imbalance in our list.I don't have a ruck on our list of needs, and a tall forward is not a pressing need.
If he is quality, height it not too critical.
Personally, I believe a small forward plus a forward flanker should be drafted before a key forwards, and then maybe a key forward\ruck late if one slips.
Haven't heard anything about them no, there was an article about WC showing interest in Brockman but that's as far as my knowledge goesAny word of us showing interest in Brockman, Gay or Bedendo?
If Tabs goes down and we're relying on an 18 year old that we picked on the 4th round we're still pretty screwed either way. Getting an 18 yo now means putting games into them now, That is what the word "development" means. To take advantage of our booming midfield talent we have to develop a concurrent forward talent. Its called balance. The alternative is to be forever waiting for a CHF to drop into our lap.Haven't heard anything about them no, there was an article about WC showing interest in Brockman but that's as far as my knowledge goes

Cox will play where he can get a game. He played all his football from 2017 up until end of 2019 as a forward. Cox may well play back to start the season - competing against Logue and Pearce (and potentially all three could play together). My info is Hamling is a little later (not too far back) and when Hamling is back someone (likely Cox) can play fwd. Fyfe is training to spend more time forward and I expect Mundy to do so. Both whilst not KPF are 192cm and same height as Pav and taller that Jack DarlingTall forward is most definately a pressing need. We are in a situation where we have to look past 2021. For sure Fyfe, Cox and Mundy will provide adequate cover for next year. But if we dont act now we will lose another year in developing young talls. There needs to be some foresight and long term planning.Cox will play where he can get a game. If Cox (draft version) isn’t available I hope we end up with one of these exciting mid forwards like Perkins, Cook or Henry. Henry in particular I like. I think they are all a good size around 188-190cm (similar height to Sam Sturt) and I think a good dynamic to have in our forward line. Henry for eg whilst only around 188cm has outstanding hands and a leap that allows him to play taller than he is.PLAYERCARDSTART1Sam Sturt

These project ruck/fwds you have mentioned would be a good developing addition to the list (certainly not at pick 12-15) but a need none the less. But they are in no way ready to step up to KPF as a 1st year player.
Longmuir has identified ruck (forward/ruck) as an area of need, and since then we have lost tall forwards. Neale shapes well for that.I don't have a ruck on our list of needs, and a tall forward is not a pressing need.

Amen brother. The Lord is always praiseworthyLongmuir has identified ruck (forward/ruck) as an area of need, and since then we have lost tall forwards. Neale shapes well for that.
Western is not a small forward. He is a small midfielder. He does have pace and skill, but it would be an ambitious prediction that he can make it in that role at AFL level. We also have Giro, Crowden, Serong and Henry as shortarese midfield options.
As a late pick I am fine with adding him, but unless we manage to grab Cox with the first pick I would grab a tall before him. Lord seems praiseworthy in that regard.
I’m not in the camp we don’t need a developing forward ruck but I’m sure the days of reaching for a certain player are well gone with Walls in charge. I like Shannon Neale and Kane but neither are even close to top 20.We are in a situation where we have to look past 2021. For sure Fyfe, Cox and Mundy will provide adequate cover for next year. But if we dont act now we will lose another year in developing young talls. There needs to be some foresight and long term planning.
In the past our planning seems to have been to draft "best available" and satisfy needs by trading. It has not worked. Clubs do not let talented talls go unless there is a problem with them. They are as rare as rocking horse poo compared to generic mids, HFFs and HBFs. That is why we have to get brave and think outside the box.
Lloyd Meek will come on in leaps and bounds this year and put the argument to bed.We still only have Brennan Coxas cover for Rory LobbPLAYERCARDSTART36Brennan Cox
