Going by the Article on Nathan O’Driscoll he certainly thinks he is going to Freo.... any thoughts of him as a winger.. long raking left foot kick, and has speed and endurance!
Possibly wishful thinking but if he is selected by Freo then that is good enough for me.

The current recruiting team have shown in recent years that they are well up to the job.

The interest , for me, is not who they pick in the 1st round - we will get a handy player regardless - but how the lower picks pan out. I would be pissed off if we do not take a punt on a KPF or KF/Ruck if the opportunity arises.

Chris who is your preference at our pick out of cook and Henry? Outside of those two who do you like for our first pick

Cook would be my first choice.

I like Chapman, Bruhn, Carroll, Henry and Powell around there too.

I think he makes an excellent option for the wing, and his two way running and defensive capabilities are also a factor. Over his career he may play in other roles as his body develops but he could debut next year on the wing and cause other teams problems.

While it doesn’t appear to be the direction we are headed, with our current forward line long kicking from the midfield is an asset. Taberner and Lobb are marking weapons and it seems Fyfe is going to spend more time there. They are marking forwards, and they have the small forwards in Walters, Henry, Schultz or Switkowski in place to support them. These are guys who want it in their vicinity in one on one contests.

If our forward focus magically shifts to guys like Sturt and someone we have yet to recruit, then maybe long kicking doesn’t make sense, but at the very least it should be part of our strategy.

Not Nathan O'Driscoll?

I have O’Driscoll in the 20-30 range. Best position is a bit of a mystery at the moment, I’m still going with wing - although most people say inside mid. I think he’s a bit Blakely and Acres like.

Any opinion on Brodie Lake? If we take a midfielder instead of a forward at pick 12.

I like Lake as a player, and you can’t question his commitment having played in 3 different state comps in the last 2 years. I think he’s 50/50 to be picked up in the national draft, another unclear best position utility type.

Sorry if you've explained it before, but why Cook over Henry? Most draft boards I've seen seem to have it the other way around.

I like Cook’s outside midfield game, he can genuinely play the position. And is a versatile forward option in that he can play out of the goal square too. Jaidyn Stephenson like.

Henry is more your third/fourth tall, floating type. Whether it’s forward or back. He’s someone I rate highly, but I value Cook’s position more.

How about Carroll in that mix?

As a younger draftee I think his combination of poise and inside abilities have been impressive.

I’d take Carroll over O’Driscoll. Think he has a higher ceiling, better inside/outside mix.

Hi Chris25, I didn't know much about Cook but the more I learn about him the more I'd be happy to draft him with our pick. Hope you can provide some more insight, but this is my understanding from what I've watched and read - can play (and likes playing) wing and forward, good aerial ability and marking, can be very creative around goals although it seems he could improve his accuracy. Not a super fast player but seems to have time and space because of great footy IQ, and brings other players into the game (inside 50s and goal assists). How would you rate his disposal?

He's definitely not a one dimensional player, very versatile and has alot of strings to his bow as they say, I think he would fit our list very well.

Guys like Berry, Callow, are so ready to play straight up.
Let’s hope we have another Serong on the cards.
Some of these guys are going to
Physically hurt the opposition.

It should be Wednesday at 4pm WA time. You can follow along on afl.com.au, Foxtel, bigfooty and @TaylorBlackAFL on Twitter.

That last one isn't real. I'll be here commenting.

Sums him up fairly well. His disposal is fine, not a massive strength but not something that would see him drop. If his athletic testing at the combine was better, I doubt he'd be available at our pick.
