We're into the final week of the Draft discussions, so we're really getting into the thick of it now.

We'll track and discuss all the draft news in here and live on the night(s), and that even means talk of pick trades.

Previous draft watch thread, here.

Hawthorn
Starting list size: 36
Out: 8 (Burgoyne, Patton, Scully retired, Ceglar, O'Brien trade/FA, Cousins, Hanrahan, Hartley delisted)
In: 2 (Lynch traded, Reeves promoted)
Current senior list: 30 players
Current rookies: 6 Cat A (Bramble, Callow, Jeka, Moore, Newcombe, Saunders) + 1 Cat B (O'Hara)
Live picks: 6 (5, 21, 24, 59, 65, 81, 99)

P.s. We're expected to leave a spot open on the list to take a player in the preseason supplementary period, according to Box Hill president, Ed Sill.

So does anyone have access to what it says?
- Mitchell is a big fan of Johnson, Hawks weighing up between him and Ward
- Saints, Dockers, Tigers and Power all have interest in Johnson, too
- Amiss firming for the Dockers at 6, Erasmus a chance at 8
- Eagles linked with NWM, could also swoop on Erasmus or Johnson if available
- GWS, Richmond and Sydney among likely destinations for Van Rooyen

We currently hold pick 5 last year we ended up with Pick 6.... we will end up with Pick 7 but as it stands our current Pick is the best we've had since 2005.

Yeah so it's propaganda basically to make it sound better than it is, DGB will be taken higher than this years pick. Bookmark it.

Johnson has speed, endurance, clean hands, composure with the ball and neat disposal. Impressive athlete confirmed with his elite testing for speed (2.98 seconds for 20 metres) and agility (8.06 seconds for AFL agility run). 192cm, a 6’4 mid.

I give up totally confused and don’t know who I’d take and have decided to leave it to the gods!

Players are likened to Pendlebury every year in the draft, but this kid is the closest I’ve ever seen in the way he moves.
He seems a very McKenzie pick - elite athlete, very composed and clean with ball, great foot skills etc with upside when puts on 10kg. As that 2nd mid (not no 1 grunt ball winner) Johnson has everything to be elite. Reckon he’s a better prospect than Ward (I wouldn’t be surprised if we had no interest in Ward given lacks speed/power we seem to prioritise)
