Bit worried about Port being scheduled to play at Metricon in the DAYTIME - it'll be our first day game in how long. Are the players allowed to wear sunnies? :)

I have Virgin flight credits and 2 nights Brisbane accommodation credits from Round 1 2020. Might be time to use them. Need to dig out a map to help me get to Adelaide Airport though.

Not sure we can complain too much about out home fixturing so far. We've had a Friday night, including tomorrow 3 Sat night, 1 sat twilight and a Sunday night with a holiday Monday. Weve got a Sunday twilight a Thursday and a sat night to come. So basically only 1 of our first 7 home games is not a high preference or prime time game. That's pretty bloody good I reckon.

It’s not Friday night though!

First 10 rounds sorted at

Note that 1 of the Saturday night games and 1 Sunday 3.20pm game + another game I have said are Ch 7's, will actually be Fox Footy broadcast games, so that 7 meets its 66 games for the Friday night+Saturday night+Sunday arvo time slots over 23 rounds to go with its 8 Thursday night games and 3 public holiday games = 77 games they will produce and broadcast. But I have called them all Ch 7 games for now as it doesn't say which games they will drop.

The AFL does this every year that has some of the teams that have a bye play other teams that didn't.

With Covid potential issues you would think that they should have made all the bye teams play each other so that if they had to cancel / delay a round because of an outbreak, or borders lock down that wouldn't completely * up the schedule.

Rd 12 bye teams Geelong, Gold Coast, GWS, Hawthorn, North, Port

Rd 13 games involving Rd 12 Bye teams
Fremantle vs. Gold Coast
North Melbourne vs. GWS

Port Adelaide vs. Geelong
Sydney Swans vs. Hawthorn

Rd 13 bye teams Brisbane, Carlton, Essendon, Richmond, West Coast Eagles, Western Bulldogs

Rd 14 games involving Rd 13 Bye teams
Geelong vs. Western Bulldogs
GWS vs. Carlton
Hawthorn vs. Essendon
North Melbourne vs. Brisbane
West Coast Eagles vs. Richmond

Rd 14 byes teams Adelaide, Collingwood, Fremantle, Melbourne, St Kilda, Sydney

Rd 15 games involving Rd 14 bye teams
Carlton vs. Adelaide
Collingwood vs. Fremantle

Essendon vs. Melbourne
Port Adelaide vs. Sydney
Richmond vs. St Kilda

Lucked out that both Hawks and Suns had a bye in Rd 12 and can schedule things for a bye this week and play Rd 12. Wonder if Hawks are still flying out to Darwin tomorrow.

CROWDS will be locked out of games in Victoria this weekend as the state prepares to enter a seven-day lockdown from Thursday night.

And Richmond's clash with Adelaide, originally scheduled for Sunday at the MCG, is set to be moved with Tigers officials bracing for the game to be played in Sydney. It is largely due to the inability of the Crows to fly in and out of Melbourne given South Australia's hardline stance on the Victorian border.

Gold Coast's clash against Hawthorn is set to be moved from Darwin with contingencies being worked through to find an alternative venue. The Hawks had been planning to fly to the NT on Thursday morning before their flight was cancelled.

ROUND 11
Friday, May 28

Western Bulldogs v Melbourne, Marvel Stadium, 7.50pm AEST .... Might be cancelled
Saturday, May 29
Collingwood v Geelong, MCG, 1.45pm AEST ................................going ahead no crowd
Brisbane v Greater Western Sydney, Gabba, 2.10pm AEST
St Kilda v North Melbourne, Marvel Stadium, 4.35pm AEST ..........going ahead no crowd
Gold Coast v Hawthorn, TIO Stadium, 7.10pm ACST..................... looks like it might be on GC
West Coast v Essendon, Optus Stadium, 5.40pm AWST .......... Essendon escaped in time
Sunday, May 30
Richmond v Adelaide, MCG, 1.10pm AEST................. Looks like being played in Sydney
Sydney v Carlton, SCG, 3.20pm AEST........................................ Carlton escaped in time
Port Adelaide v Fremantle, Adelaide Oval, 4.10pm ACST

The question will be if SA and WA will impose a 28 day no cases restriction on teams from Vic. Rd 13 game Geelong game will probably have to be cancelled

Might have to redo the schedule and have non Vic teams play each other for 2 to 4 weeks and the Vic teams play each other. Rd 14 we play GC and Rd 15 Sydney so that wouldn't affect our schedule for those games.

Any word yet on when we'll find out about the timing for the Hawthorn game?

Dare I say the AFL will be leaving this one down to the last possible moment to be finalised.

For us, we need to hope Victorian govt says crowds can return, because I do not want this game to be moved to Tasmania under any circumstances. We play like ass down there.

We should be fine unless there's a record number of 50m penalties again.

When was the last time we actually played well down in Tassie? I can't think of one under Hinkley.

With the swirling wind there I want no part of it. I don't care how bad Hawthorn are as a side, give them to me at Marvel where we can play an easy round of bruise free footy any day.

We haven't won there since 2007, when Brett Ebert took a mark, kicked the goal then the siren went as soon as the ball was bounced in the middle.

After what they did in Sydney last week, I'm wary of them wherever the game is played.

Hawthorn game will be prime-time on free-to-air if it’s Burgoyne’s 400th.

Most likely the Sunday arvo game then - can't imagine Channel 7 would want it on a friday or saturday night - even a Thursday would be a stretch because the game is in melbourne.

This looks promising, but it doesn't take much for plans to be scuttled...
