no Tyrone Thorne, we have enough small guys.

Its a no brainer that we need to shore up our KPF stocks. With only Tabs and a 3 gamer as specialist tall forwards that is obvious to the proverbial blind freddy.

Sadly I think our club is often blind to the obvious. I don't think Freo will take a selection mid-season.

Look I know everyone has their opinions but I'm not sure about Tyrone Thorne ahead of Jason Horne
i'd love to see this board spontaneously combust if we took thorne ahead of horne

His opinion on the price is irrelevant

To try and build the side only out of WA players would be idiotic and your constant carping about Vic draftees is not only incredibly tiresome it isn't even about anything: It has literally been 23 years since we last lost a high Victorian draft pick back to Melbourne.
Probably because most of our high draft picks have been absolute rubbish.
We have lost players to Melbourne and leaning towards West Australian players hasn't been a problem for West coast.

We will know in the next few years if we have not right royally ****ed up with cerra & co signing on or heading home..

Well Jack Williams is from Victoria, so was Norton.
So why not the best of both worlds?
If we don’t take a tall with our first pick, we are still stuffing it up.
West Coast don’t have too many players who can’t hit a target.
Yet haven’t had a top ten pick since Gaff.
Not many WA kids go top ten,
WC don’t have a skills problem, but go local, must be luck 😜

Do WCE go local?

They picked Brander ahead of Allen.

Recent WCE first picks from interstate:
2010 - Gaff. 2014 - Duggan. 2015 - Partington. 2016 - Venables. 2017 - Brander. 2018 - O'Neill

So whats the word? MSD..all systems go?
We will have the opportunity to make a selection or three, but I suspect if our targets going into the draft are gone before our choice becomes active then we will pass on all of them - it's at least $70,000 per person drafted if we don't sign them for 2022 and we also have to dedicate more coaching resources to them, all while we have less money to spend both doing that and less coming in to fund it.

You surprised Jlo or Bell hasnt been asked about MSD yet? Its what 2 or 3 weeks away?

You seem to know the answers so I'll ask another one...can we pick any player we speak to who's willing to join or the player has to officially nominate for the MSD or the previous ND draft?

I'm not surprised Longmuir and Bell haven't been asked about the MSD draft on June 2nd, the MSD is mostly for AFL dorks like me, not the people who pay attention to the news stories.

The player has to nominate for the MSD, they have to previously have nominated for the 2020 draft or been delisted at the end of last season. I think they have until about 3pm WST on the 25th of May to do that.

If you have a particular name in mind I'll check the list of nominees for the 2020 draft and let you know if they are eligible.

What's going to piss me off is those *ers at the AFL are going to give North a first round PP after giving GC a full Hail Mary package two years ago...After North traded away their senior players and only 2 or three years ago were in or just out of the eight...

We've been s**t for the last 6 years and GC provisions were a joke and diluted our possibilities.
This year North will get to take both the best mid AND the best tall...they can FOAD

What if that pick was required to be traded for a player and they weren't allowed access to the first round of the PSD?

Can't think of anyone in particular.

Clearly won't happen, but i just hope Jye Bolton somehow gets on an AFL list. Seems like a nice bloke and deserves another shot.

I thought this as well, give them a PP with the condition they have to use it to bring in a Cerra or McKay or the like.
Makes more sense than just letting them load up on kids at the draft.

If the AFL had a ladder for importance to the AFL, we would be clearly last.

Unless, we are going to struggle financially we will be least Important to the AFL.

He also suggested AFL clubs needing a ruck should take Zach Strom in the mid season draft, even though he is not playing in the ruck this season. He ain't the footy genius of the lamp he is cracked up to be.
Duffield is overrated due to his surname

This x 100. If freo didn’t make finals for the next 40 years but stayed financially independent during that period, AFL house would be absolutely thrilled.
