Ports jumper has nothing to do with the Vic-centricness of the AFL. If Geelong wanted to wear red blue and yellow hoops I expect the afl would support us and say no as well.

If Geelong had worn red blue and gold hoops for a significant period in their VFL history then there is no way in hell the AFL would oppose them rolling it out twice a year now.

I disagree. The AFL’s position is pretty clear despite the strawmanning from Port.

They’ve also got significant and recent form when it comes to who is forced to wear what. Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton and until recently Richmond have different rules applied to them for clash guernseys for example.

I really don’t think that the AFL would want to have similar jumper change requests from every other club whenever they want which could happen if they cave in to Port. I actually like the tradition of AFL clubs having their own colours/designs and the shouldn’t be able to change them because “heritage, M&M sponsorships” etc etc.

I'm not sure what his intent was other than to hurt him by slinging him after a ball up had been called. It was much more than careless, it was pretty obvious his intention was to slam him into the ground while his arms were pinned.

Oh, and BTW, concussion is defined as a brain injury in the form of bruising.

It was a careless tackle.
He didn't "intend" to drive his head into the ground.
He'll get max 3 weeks.

Every player in this competition has to accept they might get minor concussion now.

The tackle was pretty bad, but what he did next was much worse. Dragging a clearly concussed player a long the ground, then dropping his 110 kgs onto him until he was dragged off by a couple of crows. Just wish we had someone to fly the flag for the little fella. Lycett didn't deserve to walk off the field.
