I dont get the flu one

Me either late 60's early 70's I was on a construction site at Pilkington glass factory in Geelong, they were lined up getting flu jabs going through a make shift structure everyone thought the ones collapsing coming out the othersider were putting it on falling on the ground,turns out the vaccine was contaminated some died before they figured out what had happened,so no flue jab for me. Vaccinated for every thing else but can't get that one.

About how they had to land all those planes in those small airfields... was just nuts. I had no idea it was that big a job/deal to do that at the time. Was so interesting

Daughter just got that bout a week and a half a ago. I think 26 is the limit. Think you can still get it but won't do much.
I am not a doctor though

I watched the same thing - meant to post about it on here and forgot

I've seen the musical Come From Away which is based in Gander, so when I saw that doco last night was about the landing of the of the planes and that side of things, it very much interested me in watching the other side of things

It was SO interesting.

No idea it was that hard to land all those planes.. you just think "ok so land the planes" uh uh.... some planes are too heavy for the runways!! Would have smashed them up... then the difficulty in maintaining enough space, then parking the planes.. jfc

But still to argue the other side- if the terrorists were on board.. they would have attacked by then. They were coordinated attacks... they werent stupid

Essentially it's eleven directors from 11 countries who each contribute an 11-minute short reflecting on the events of 11 September 2001

I've got the DVD but never watched it; I've actually got a couple of 9/11 docos/movies at home

And also dealing with the ego of pilots - as Beverly Bass said, when a plane is going to divert it's the pilot who contacts air control to advise where they are being diverted to, but in this case they were being told where to go & what they had to do with any choice or say in the matter

Wouldn't have been the easiest thing for pilots to necessarily put the egos aside, but seems that ultimately all did so and I bet that once they found out the full reason why they were being told what they had to do, there would have been bit more appreciation for the job the air traffic controllers had to do that morning

Nah i dont think its ego.. its like 'WTFness" remember they got prehistoric internet back then- they had no idea what was going on really, not the details. We were way more informed in melbourne that night!!!

Its just so like "Wtf we gotta divert- theres nothing wrong with the plane- and its not even a major airport".... just like one of the guys said- there were NO training for that whatsoever.
