Actually admitted going after Trump was pure propaganda to get rid of him. Amazing that they actually admit making most of it up, and most americans seem fine with being lied to. We are entering a dangerous time.
Actually "they" (CNN I guess you're referring to) didn't admit to anything, it was merely one low level staffer offering his opinion of what was happening while being secretly recorded by a group with a, how shall I put it, very dubious history of deceptive reporting.
"Entering" a dangerous time, hell yanks have been fine with being lied to for decades, Vietnam, Kuwaiti babies remover from incubators, WMD's just to mention a few, and now the latest, horror stories about China, with unsubstantiated stories of rape, torture, sterilization, organ harvesting and even crematoriums being built next to the "concentration" camps.
Compared to all that CNN possibly trying to get rid of Trump is small potatoes.

I don't like Trump at all. But he ain't the worst. Definitely the most brazen with his lies though.

It's not merely "most brazen" with his lies, it's most prolific with his lies, most constant with his lies, and most nihilistically intentional with his lies.
You can't compare an illiberal con man with a mental disorder that makes him lie pathologically to normal small-l liberal politicians who make policy decisions we may judge to be good or bad.

I strongly disagree with this.
You mentioned Bush, for instance, but Trump's foreign policy was absolutely godawful. Significantly worse than Bush's. No US President has done more to damage the Western liberal order or been more of an aid to Western adversaries than Trump through his isolationist America First policies, undermining of allies, and simping for dictators. Foreign policy experts are more or less unanimous in this view, and I agree with them.
