He played well early in 2019 at home against the Crows, Round 1 against Gold Coast he was pretty good too. I don't really have that much invested in him either way. 17 games in 2019 was reason enough to keep him on for 2020 but 2020 he played 2 games, injured during the year and there were others that had gone ahead of him like Butler for example. 19 games and I'd probably say 3-4 of them were good. Probably a stretch if it's anywhere near half of the 19.
It took Luke Dunstan a few games getting 40 possessions and couple of goals a week at Sandy to get a game this year, so there's no way known running around playing kick to kick in Noosa is a way to get yourself

A Back into form and

B Back into the team.

Butler 2020 V Parker 2019.

Geez, I know there is a lot of Matty Parker fan bois on here but trying to suggest Parker in 2019 is even comparable to what Butler was last year is laughable.

So 40% less goals even though that year of Butler's was on 20% less game time

I consider de-listing Parker, and rooking Wood, to be the recruiter equivalent of masturbationi.
They have fun jerking off, but in the end haven't achieved anything.
Agreed, we really need Parker, Acres and Bruce to rocket us back up the ladder, like they did when we challenged with them over the past decade.
I miss those days.

Where there's both wood and jerking involved you normally achieve something in the end, or at least out the end ;) #orsotheexpertstellme

No offence but its no more laughable than people suggesting that Parker only played 2 good games in his time with us.

Check the stats - its obvious that his outputs in his first year are comparable to Butler's from last year.

Anyway the team that is sitting 12th on the ladder this year de-listed him and the team that has won 3 out of the last 4 premierships saw fit to snap him up. Go figure!!!

I suspect the issue might have been that he is a bit harder to coach than other players and we got rid of him on that basis.

And there lies the real problem - Ratts was good when he had players virtually under his complete control when in the hubs and but now that there is abit more freedom he is clearly struggling to be able to motivate the players.

Signed on for next year as well - hope he can turn it around.

This is a great example that stats aren't always the best example for illustrating a players influence and performance on games.

And Butler stats from from 20% less game time due to the shortened quarters so it isnt exactly the best comparison either.

It is if you also do the maths properly and factor in less games and less TOG per game played by Parker. Especially if you then consider the Butler's "great" year just happened to coincide with the whole team was not only playing well but playing a style that suited him perfectly.

Perhaps a more accurate comparison is using this years figures for Butler in 2020 against Parker in 2019 given the games are the same length and team is playing at a similar standard (although Butler is playing 15% more game time)

But as I said, the bigger issue is the whether coach has lost the players after they left the hub last year. Certainly looks like it to me.

Now we have Wood and McKernan.
Like i said, Jerking off.

Hey this player is rubbish, lets get rid of him and get someone just as bleagh. What's the point?

Parker, Acres and Bruce were all first 22. Wood is a fringe even with a much worse injury list and McKernan has been a break glass in case of emergency.

Or are you suggesting we should never have bottom 6 or reserve players?

This Parker stuff is going nowhere.

Now I’m no expert.

So let’s check with Shifter who can always be relied upon for an unbiased and unemotional analysis of a players ability [emoji41]
