He didn't get a chance to be consistent? Based on what? He played 17 games in his first year.

Probably could get rid of 12 without blinking.
I thought his first year was good making the step upo etc ....I thgink owing to injury and a few other things he never got the opportunity or grace to establish himself again!.. That is what I find strange...he showed enough to be given the grace to prove himself through another year

And many good games in that 17 games being he was 3rd in our goal kicking that year. Anyway i think we should move on. Some loved him and rated him. Some didn't and are happy he is no longer on the list.

Hope he gets a good run at Richmond (insert throwing up gif) and plays some good footy. I don't think anyone can disagree, he is great to watch when on

Exactly...
Last thing I'll say...one would imagine a prudent list manager would have identified that and ear marked him for another year as what he showed was sufficient to warrant that....now the Tigers have seen what we didnt....I think that his time with us would have caught their eye more than anything he did in the WAFL since!

He played well early in 2019 at home against the Crows, Round 1 against Gold Coast he was pretty good too. I don't really have that much invested in him either way. 17 games in 2019 was reason enough to keep him on for 2020 but 2020 he played 2 games, injured during the year and there were others that had gone ahead of him like Butler for example. 19 games and I'd probably say 3-4 of them were good. Probably a stretch if it's anywhere near half of the 19.

But we saw what every other club didn't when we selected him in the first place. He was a mature age recruit. He's a good fella and has a great story behind how he changed his life around for his family which is all commendable but again there's a multitude of reasons why he didn't kick on. Some of it is his own form. I said before I think he'll play well at Richmond but that's because of Richmond's system and the fact he is playing in a good side so most of his weaknesses can be covered by the good players around him.

Cannot help wondering how much the cuts to the footy dept from Covid have affected our abilty to develop our young talent.

Our players seem to go backward rather than step up a level.

Have genuine concern on our ability to develop players.

Someone correct me please.
Been going on longer than COVID unfortunately. Nick Riewoldt in 2014 was the last player that we had drafted that made the AA team for example.

I think Wood joined when everyone returned in January.
Yeah he trained with us but I’m pretty sure we didn’t officially sign him until later. When he got four goals in the pre season for north I got intrigued. My guess is we were trying to get a Mitch Wallis/Hayley Fritsch/Robbie gray type mid sized forward and it didn’t work.

Anyway, done and DUSTYED now!:)

Please guy this is not a troll post but looking at that list how did parker get delisted considering the amount of good wishes for the guy coming from St Kilda supporters on our board. Was there issue's with him and coaching staff or leadership group ?

No one knows to be honest. Some of our guys coming off your board have brought the "didn't get on well with others" speculation with them. The only thing ever mentioned here was that he tended to do his warm-up's alone 🤷🏼‍♂️
Most of us were either baffled, or pissed that he got delisted. Considering the lumps we've brought in it seems even more daft.

He's been pretty good in the WAFL by all accounts.

Think you might be overrating Parker's career at St.Kilda. He's a good pressure forward that is a good size. He will probably do a lot better in a side that can cover for his deficiencies. Players around him can make up for his inconsistency and playing in a good side will probably help him too.
I really dont know much about him except maybe 4-5 games i watched that he played in but didnt really pay much attention to him

I was more going off the comments of St Kilda supporters and things like disappointment of delisting him , wasn't given a good run , Deserved to be retained
great pressure and creates etc etc

Then to see a player that i did take notice of for years like Wood only due to friends that follow north that hated him and always couldn't understand how he always kept his spot without really performing or being injury free.

Who would you rather Wood or Parker ?

He was a really good news story who we would have loved to succeed. Could certainly do some spectacular things but IMO tried that too often rather than getting the basics right.

Ultimately though, Covid cuts, uncontracted and others better than him were his undoing. Didn’t use the vfl to force his way back into the team.

Nevertheless, rapt to see him get another chance and hope he does well for you.

They are both very average. Parker has more upside but that's not saying much

Branden White is going to be a gun I tell ya.

Hey hey cut us some slack on that one, even Montagna was on that bandwagon:

“Probably part of the reason I moved on is I think Brandon White is going to be a terrific half-back,” Montagna told Melbourne radio station RSN on Thursday.

You could go back and watch the games he played last year and that would explain a lot of it.

That and being out of contract.

Spots were tight for small forwards and when he got his chance last year he was just awful unfortuately.

He'd fallen well behind the other small forwards and with Higgins coming in and Gresham set to spend more time forward it was going to be hard for him to get a game.

Yes that list above is ordinary but none of them play Parkers role except for maybe Kent who was under contract.

I consider de-listing Parker, and rooking Wood, to be the recruiter equivalent of masturbationi.
They have fun jerking off, but in the end haven't achieved anything.

yes he trained with us for 2 weeks and then we signed him up. a north supporter said at the time that he is a very good trainer!!!
Yeah, this is our new criteria.

We trialled a few however these 2 blokes missed out to the former Roo 🤷
