Ross is restricted. Geary is the one that is unrestricted.

Having a look through the players left to sign, you can pretty much get rid of all of them for reasons such as age or form. Jones & Sinclair the only real ones left (Think Jones is contracted beyond this year anyway but can't find information on it). Some would be hard calls but wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

*Not sure about the contract terms of the two boys from last night.

Surely as a player likely to get picked for the end of year AFL draft, Heath would have selected an 18month contract. Would guarantee himself a 2yr at the end of the year anyway and is at school.
Sharman been around a bit so may have gone the shorter option.

Please guy this is not a troll post but looking at that list how did parker get delisted considering the amount of good wishes for the guy coming from St Kilda supporters on our board. Was there issue's with him and coaching staff or leadership group ?

A lot of us don't get it either.

Reckon he'll fly at the tigers.

Fan favourite but was inconsistent. Would bob up and do something nice once in a while. Generally not in the play enough to warrant a spot in the 22 every week.

Reduced list sizes and he was out of contract. Not having VFL games to play in probably didn't help either.

Yeah i get that but then St Kilda went and got Mason Wood who i have never really rated at North and has had 8 years of just cameo appearances at best was really strange

Your guess is as good as ours. We’ve become obsessed with medium-tall forwards lately and nobody can work out why.

Think you might be overrating Parker's career at St.Kilda. He's a good pressure forward that is a good size. He will probably do a lot better in a side that can cover for his deficiencies. Players around him can make up for his inconsistency and playing in a good side will probably help him too.

He was behind Lonie and Butler, and neck and neck with Kent who was contracted. We would also have known we were getting Higgins i think.
Same time most of us probably thought he would be kept.

As for Wood not sure anyone understands that. We do like medium talls both fwd and back.
Probably just coverage in the event of an injuries to King, Battle and Membrey.

I'd say Kent was comfortably ahead Parker.

Wasn’t Wood a last minute signing? Like Hunter? Both due to our pre season injury crisis?

Obviously given he was actually in the team. Keeping in mind we had Parker Hind Kent Lonie and Butler as small forwards and Gresh and Higgins and Billings who could push up too. That’s too many. Regardless of where we should’ve played them we needed to dispose of some of them. Looks like Parker and Hind drew those short straws. Unlucky.

Most teams aren't expecting 1st or 2nd year players to be very consistent in the 1sts luckily

He didn't even have to be very consistent. At least 3 good games out of every 10 would've been nice.

Kent played every game in 2019 until he was out for the season with injury so I'm not sure we ever found out what the pecking order was that year.

How is he behind in 2021 considering he is the one way stayed on the list?
Parker has played far better in the wafl than Kent has played for Sandy this year so it's apples and apples.

I'd say Parker was comfortably better than Kent in 2019. I remember he was very average and everyone wanted him dropped. Ratts kept backing him in until he played a good game against the Dees in round 5. Then pretty average after that for the most part. Then injured. Plus he's got concrete hands and his kicking is hit and miss.

The covid year probably isn't best to judge players on. Some would have really struggled with it..

He didn't get a chance to be consistent....so that's a stretch! As you say lets move on hey!

He didn't get a chance to be consistent? Based on what? He played 17 games in his first year.

How many we delisting this year then?
Probably could get rid of 12 without blinking.
