that was what I re-call hearing on Trade Radio from Terry Wallace... why else would we do that trade for a 2nd and 3rd rounder?

he wasn't out of contract! there was no rush for us to do that trade

Wallace makes up crap like many on here do.

Referencing him is like saying something is true because you read it in the Herald Sun.

We traded Bruce because

1. It helped us get picks to other deals done
2. We didn’t think we’d need him with Max, Skunk, Roma, Paddy and Battle on hand
3. He wasn’t the leader that he should have been at his age
4. His form in 2019 was patchy at best

That, in a nutshell, is my issue.

I want the club to be smart.

So were we smart when we targeted and got Membrey for next to nothing, Steele for a second rounder and Doogs as part of a very good deal?
When we targeted players who were not being played in their preferred positions at their clubs?

Or do we only wring our hands about the times (I count two, including Tom Lynch) when we lost players the other way?

I don't understand this line of thinking.

Us getting something right in the past doesn't negate learning from mistakes we make. Again... Battle... wing.

Only 5 restricted free agents left after geelong secure theirs.

Matt Crouch (Adelaide), Zach Merrett (Essendon), Josh Kelly (GWS), Jack Billings (St Kilda) and George Hewett (Sydney).

Word is Merrett will re-sign on mega dollars.
Crouch hasn’t played a game.
hewett is meh.

leaves Kelly and his mega dollar deal or JB - who apparently still hasn’t started talks with us....

ahh man we traded kelly :-(

St Kilda and Richmond orchestrated a trade on Wednesday morning.

Foxfooty.com.au understands Saints ruck Poppy Kelly will arrived at Punt Road in exchange for Pick 48.

The deal is expected to be announced as early as lunchtime.

Kelly was found at a Saints trial day and is still relatively new to football.

For pick 48 no less... FMD

We might bull sh*t our way to the number one pick though. There’s weird zones and Geelong might opt for local talent over the clear number one player in the draft. Means we end up with the chance.
I read that a while ago. Let’s see how it turns up.

Yep, we should have taken Hind with pick one.

I'll say it again the fact he was consistently playing well for Sandy in 2019 as a defender. The fact he's now playing well.

You can't just ignore facts.

Your logic is basically that he wasn't picked so he can't have been playing well. That doesn't make sense.

It would make sense if people were infallible to mistakes and errors of judgment but we're not and unfortunately looks like some errors of judgment were made regarding Nick Hind which we can all see now apart from you.

I'm not trying to beat on the club here I accept people make mistakes, but it doesn't mean it's not frustrating.

You can agree to disagree if you like and we will leave it at that but if you keep pushing your point I'll just repeat myself.
I think the way your thinking the Hind situation is incorrect.

IF I joined your work and I traditionally did the EXACT same job as you and you were performing your role at work to a pretty good level - do you think your boss should get you to do another job, in the hope I might be able to do your job better?

or do you think your boss should let you continue until such a point as your performance not warranting you keeping your job?

that’s effectively the issue we had with Hind.

All comments about Nick Hind must be prefaced with a declaration as to who should be dropped to make way for him.

Like I said, OK hbf in the 6th worst defence in the league.

Well one of the reasons I’ve read and posted in here a lot less in the last couple of years was that I was absolutely sick to death of your absolutely incessant “we’re sh*t”, “everything we do is sh*t”, “there’s no point doing this because we’ll just stuff it up” crap, that you post day after day after day, after day after day, week after week, month after month.

Life is far far far too short and precious to sit in here and trawl through that day doom and gloom and constant “woe-is-me” garbage day after day.

Getting out the grief at the funeral is fine and normal, but then you can also do this thing which is celebrating their life, and getting on with yours afterwards, in a way that makes you happy- which I’m sure the departed would want you to do. Rather than just continuing to grieve endlessly and NEVER LETTING IT GO.

You never let it go Gringo. You just go on and on and on and on and on with it.

Are you aware that there’s a whole lot of other things you could be doing with your life other than wallowing in constant misery about a football team?

Aussie mate...c'mon that's an over reaction on near Gringo proportions. You may be closer to him than you think 🤔

I thought Seb was still unsigned? Or is he unrestricted?
