You're like a dodgy used car salesman.
Hey!!! I used to be one of those.

Brad Hill is turning 28 this season and Cerra will be 22 and has already finished in the top 5 in our best and fairest. There would be no way we'd be giving up our first rounder in a trade for a player who is struggling in BradHill for a trade involving a player who is one of the most skilled mids in the afl under 23. I don;t think Freo would trade for anything more than Brad Hill and your first for Cerra and our second.

Good. Keep him then.

Cerra is overrated. Why do you assume we would want him? And why would we be remotely interested in paying part of Hill’s contract as the steak knives in a deal where we ALSO hand over our 1st RDP for Cerra?

We’re happy to engage and field trade scenarios. We’re open and welcoming to opposition supporters. But these scenarios must be fair and reasonable. This one is just ludicrous.

Cerra would barely be worth our 1st RDP, and even then I’d be furious if we did that. He’s a nice player but I want us to draft match winners who can take a game by the scruff of the neck and win it. That isn’t Adam Cerra. He is vanilla.

IMO, Freo are better off cutting their losses and getting a mid 1st RDP for him. Because that is what he is worth. He’s not worth the money he is asking for.

Surely you're kidding? Or you haven't seen Cerra play enough.

The bloke is an incredible talent. Supremely skilled on both sides of his body, knows how to hit up targets, composed when he gets the ball and has a hard, defensive edge to his game.

Would walk straight in to our midfield next to Steele and Crouch.

I’ve seen him play. He is a nice player. I said that. But IMO you’re overrating him more than a fair bit. He probably would start in our midfield, but ATM our midfield is our greatest need and has been for a while.

If he’s as good as you think he is then Freo will accept his contractual demands. Apparently they have put an offer to him and he hasn’t accepted it. Sounds like they will need to pay more and they probably will. He will get his pay day.

Would you swap our 1st RDP and Brad Hill, plus pay some of Hill’s salary, in order to get him to the club? That’s what was suggested. I’m not reading a lot of support for that suggestion, but I’m willing to be persuaded otherwise.

Significant cut?

He is a free agent. Is there no interest from other clubs?

I think he's actually a pretty good club man and wants some success after playing in a horrible era. If he's chosen to stay loyal and take a pay cut it's actually pretty admirable. He cops some shit for not being elite but he's been one of our good players in a drought period.

That's true but don't tell the Freo w***er that.

You make a compelling case where do we sign?

I think every Victorian club will be queuing up with a high first and extras for a young mid who averaged 17.4 possessions, 2.1 clearances per week and smashed the score board with 2 goals and 3 behinds for the year.

You were garbage last year and the state of your team reflects his top 10 finish in the b&f, cerra looks ok and that’s about it.

Your obsession with hill speaks volumes, you’re desperate to get a proven match winning premiership player back into your team. I think we’ll keep our contracted player thanks, when he’s good he’s great and when he’s not we need someone to blame.

Seriously the going rate on Cerra would be around what Caldwell cost the bombers, pick 29 and a future second for Caldwell, pick 44 and 74.

Nah he’s shown glimpses with some good games chucked in.

This will be funny as the dockers get desperate and it dawns on them that you only get one Allan bond/gold coast in a lifetime.

I hope it reaches the same heights as Adelaide hit with crouch, now that was funny. Watch him nominate carlton or similar and freo become more desperate by the day. They screwed us over on hill so I’m quite looking forward to this, it’s just a pity we can’t get dororo involved.

The dockers are feral, there will be arse goblins high on ice ranting and slathering over this just wait. Haha speaking of which super moon tonight should fire a few locals up, it usually does.

750k a year for Cerra. That’s what the rumoured offer from Carlton is. No thanks. Not worth it. Not shown anywhere close to enough.

Clark has killed him in comparison

If you could get a first round pick for any 2 of:
Billings
Gresham (with change from us)
Battle (with change from us).

Move them and reset.

However I'd rather Battle stay and sit at CHB, get Bing into the forwardline. Players don't generally come good until 50 games + and Battle just hit that milestone

If the contract value isn't exorbitant, this is a good result. We overrated Ross all the way along.

He's a solid citizen, no more or less. We would never get good trade value for him, so it's best he stays (at the right value)

Exactly the same applies to Dunstan and McKenzie. As long as they aren't costing us Acres or Bruce money and they are happy to stay knowing it a fair chance they will be depth only its a no brainer.

Unless of course people want a team where all non starting 22 players are under the age of 21.

Fancy picking Coffield before Naughton. In the Under 18’s game vs Vic Metro , it was Naughton who tore it apart. Projecting how they would develop , Naughton had oodles of self confidence , and was top dog , whilst Coffields lack of confidence in himself hasn’t changed. As for Bont v Billings , Bont had a brilliant finish to his season in his draft year , and the bolter talk is regurgitated hyperbole. Blind Freddie would have picked him. Billings lack of size and strength , coupled with him projected to be a half forward / wing , should have had us select the taller , and on fire midfield option. Both Billings and Coffield are good footballers , but this just is to highlight how we seem to blow our recruiting choices , over and over. Someone has said we should make a move on the Bulldogs top recruiter , well what we pay Libba and Gubby should make for a nice sized offer. That is our way back

What we really need is one of these.

That would please the Harry Hindsights.

So we lack picks and we should include picks to move on good players?

I’m only interested in the move Billings train if it gets us a first round compo directly after ours.

Why does everybody want to offload our better players?

No one would want our worse players so we trade our best players, then we can use them to make poor picks in the draft and screw ourselves for another decade.

Or get someone who makes good decisions 90% of the time so that another 10 years of stuff ups don't haunt us. You want to be spending money in the right areas. Having someone who is top shelf in the drafting and talent identification areas is more important than a good coach. Even Clarkson can't make poo into gold.

If he played at another club 2017-19 peeps would have been prepared to give up 2 first rounders for him
