You make a lot of valid points , Ryder would only have one more year in him i think and maybe King plays down back if he ever does come to us , I'm not sure he will as I'm not as romantic as a lot of them on here .
The way Sharman is going you just have to play him , maybe we just play a taller forward line ?

Yep, just kick high balls inside fifty and no problem at all. One forward runs 45 degrees each side. One straight out.
Done and dusted.
🤣

I think we would to get a 200+cm athlete who can rotate through a bunch of positions as needed. CHB, Ruck, CHF, FF, maybe wing (MRicho/Roo style)
The ultimate swing man

Didn’t you know the dockers are going to win a flag in a few years?
Didn’t they also have a “much better list than us“ when Ross went there? And I’m talking about the 2009/2010 us.

On a side note, very interesting what’s happening / or not with Ross and the Blues. Looks like his misbehaviour at Freo has become a bit of a sticking point.

Not too sure it’s been mentioned but the idea of Pendlebury. Now i doubt he would leave but if there was a possibility of us getting him, I would love the club to the question.

He’s still a very good player, one of the best midfielders in the past 10 odd years. He would add a wealth of experience and knowledge to our club.

He did mention he would be open to clubs who offer potential coaching along with playing career.

We need leaders at this club, imagine the young kids learning from the likes of Pendles and Steele

Pendles has ruled out any move on twitter this morning.

Do we Pony up the $700k Plus for Parker and offer him a 4 year deal
He's the only Free Agent I find appealing, but I still feel like Sydney will get it sorted eventually. Their cap is clearly tight, but their captain who is an A grade player is one they'll prioritise. I'd happily have Parker for 4 years at 700k, but I can't see it happening.

It’s cause Max is ours now, no one wants to even consider that Ben might be better. I wonder if that means once Ben is here, and he is by chance better, whether he’ll even get the credit for it or whether the favouritism will still be favouring Max.
Might be that shadow he’s been trying to escape his whole life

I reckon if you gave every clubs recruiter a choice of Max or Ben then nearly every one would pick Max.
Theyre quite different players, Max has much more X factor.
Ben still a very good player though.

No. We need to start bringing in younger mids otherwise they will all be past it while King is in his prime.
I'm against us having an aggressive trade approach, for the reasons you outline but Parker is the only one I'd change that for. Parker and Steele in midfield would be a genuinely elite combination in there. If King develops as expected next year, that probably gets us to three genuine A graders. That's pretty close to being the framework for top four I think.

Joining in on this thread late. Where do people see our main holes that will need filling this off season? Another elite mid would always be nice, but not a whole lot on the market.

Generally, I'm confident that the team's underperformance this year was mainly attributable to the complete lack of continuity in the side from week to week. In some ways, the almost weekly 2-4 week injuries to important players all over the ground is much more destabilising than losing a gun for the entire season. If we get continuinty back, we will improve markedly. Here's to hoping that we will finally get to see our best midfield (including Gresham, Hunter, Ryder, Marshall) get on the park on a weekly basis.

I'd be looking at a key back who can pinch hit in the ruck. As much as I hate to see us not play Paddy, but Marshall looks so much better as a solo ruck. Wouldn't mind us getting Lipinski and converting him to a winger as he's elite by foot. Probably just depth signings otherwise

Finishing with 10 wins with the amount of injuries we had was huge. I think I read somewhere that we 144 games missed threw injury from our best 22. We get that right next year the sky is the limit!

Adam Cerra's only path out of Fremantle is to Carlton. No other club who raised an initial interest has the draft and money to cut a deal. Cerra today told Freo he wants out. Blues have indicated a desire to give up at least 1st round pick, but have yet to speak to Cerra directly

A few clubs would have the ability to get him , but really is he worth getting for the price Bell wants.
