Naish is only one year older than Cooper Sharman

There have been a few examples of late of young players being delisted from their club and being able to make the most of another chance.

I'm not fussed either way with him, but I think just because a player has been delisted doesn't make them any less likely than whoever is taken with a very late or rookie draft pick to become a good AFL player.

Yep, especially when they're from a premiership winning system and can't get into the team due to their talent and age demographic being stacked.
Worth a punt.

After seeing that Darcy MacPherson + pick 19 likely to head to the roos, I wouldn't be opposed to taking Will Brodie + pick 22 for a future 2nd. Suns would be interested in the salary dump and we manage to improve our draft hand this year.

Having said that, I'm not sure if this would impact our play for Ben King next year or our ability to re-sign some of our youngsters.

You know a lot of the rumours on here are like the person who spotted a black cat in his back yard , next thing its in the news ,,, Black Panther spotted

Ah yes, the panthers of Victoria 🙄 is that still a thing? It bloody wrecks my head over here having to listen to ex-gap year Europeans tell me how they ALL saw one when drunk. It's right up there with nearly all the thick headed paddy and whinging Poms tell me how they beat up a kangaroo in a boxing ring before randomly being taken walkabout (They really need to diversify their one wood book of tall tales and fibbery)

Load
of
cherry
picking
crap

and he did play midfield just as much as Dunstan.

I can play this game too!

Dunstan averaged 50% more marks, 50% more inside 50s and 50% metres gained while also averaging more kicks, disposal efficiency, clearances in both centre and stoppages, 1%ers, intercepts and a better supercoach score while having less overall disposals.
Averaged more turnovers than anyone else - and inside 50s are good when you pick out opposition players - anyhow what you are saying we got rid of Gary Ablett jr

Has anyone else ever gone from BF whipping boy ( he signed for HOW long? 😳) to much loved player in the space of a season?

Apparently our players become 10x the player they actually were when they are about to leave

Not big news but we’re 2 days & 3 free agents into trade period & our picks 46 & 64 are now pick 49 & 67

Yay👎🏼🤬
It shouldn't matter for us this year with hopefully getting both NGA players, but that's the crap thing about the compo picks.

And how they figure it out is still a mystery. Somehow a fringe player who has played 30 games in 6 seasons is worth the same as a best 22 player who has played 120 games in 8 seasons.

Don't know whether it says more about how bad the compo system is or how ridiculous some of the contracts Gold Coast hand out each year are.

And to be fair to the club when have we really let a player go whose gone on to be a very good player .. really only lynch maybe hutchings comes to mind ..

Supporters up in arms over some we’ve let go .. ledger , Parker come to mind .. Others I remember supporters being upset over not getting opportunities (I was included in a few of these) Curran, Lee, white, rice, freeman, minchington...

Club hasn’t really got it wrong too often

I see the media is looking at how teams are eyeing off there players , I wonder if they look how they quickly off load a player they don't want that is costing them money.
And how they can be gifted a end of first round pick and then offload as part of a salary dump.

It's time the AFL pack up the Gold Coast.

From the get go it's been a mess and one of the worst things was they recruited Hunt who it was later found out to be par taking in the white stuff with a few of the young lads , no wonder Bennell went off the rails and who el

I understand Veers point but we all know why he left , he thought he was never given a chance - the truth is he can only play in the inside mid position which is one of the most valued positions because they are needed to win the ball , which he can do but when you can't kick you basically can't play that position.
It's a shame because he dedicated his career to St Kilda and for it to end like this is never a good look.
I hope he shows how good he is for the Gold Coast Suns.

A lot of Saints have followed Luke through his career and never like it when a guy who's played well over a 100 games gets slagged by the supporters.

And by let go I mean pretty much delisted or let go for nothing not someone we tried to gain draft capital from

It rarely happens across the league let alone our own side. Maybe 1 or 2 top quality players will leave each trade period if that. We were complaining that Dunstan was taking games away from younger players earlier in the year. He's no good, he's been in the system 8 years next year. We are right in getting rid of him.

We can't even draft enough for us, let alone others. Bruce and Hind go okay at their new clubs.

While I can understand why the club isn't keen to re-contract Luke, but to say that he is 'no good' is rubbish and unnecessary IMO… despite obvious limitations, he's polled brownlow votes in 6 of his only 12 games in two years… no need to give a really loyal saint a kick on the way out, all this shit about his character is really poor, maybe he was playing for himself in his last game… who could blame him.

He bled for the club and didn't leave anything out on the park… I wish a few other more athletically gifted played and trained with the same intent and attitude.
