I would like Narkle to be considered.
I also think McLean is ideal as a support to Marshal.

so add these two and a nice midfielder at pick 9
Could be three inclusions that improve the list..?
I wouldn’t go past Constable either. He doesn’t fit our need as much but could be a good get for young depth and replace ross
Those guys are probably depth IMO, Geelong has a reasonably strong midfield so those guys were not getting much of a run. Narkle never seemed to get a good run at it. Others may know more. Cant leave Paddy R out

Depends what we are after and who we can afford. Been told we are looking at a number of players targeting specific weaknesses.

Lol I am sounding like the Flamingo.

Without be specific, it sounds as though our cap may not be as tight as some thought it was.
That kinda sounds like a play for cerra tbh

Agreed. I can't see us going after a big fish though. I think we consolidate and hit the draft with a first dp, and hopefully pick up the academy kids.

I think we need a top midfielder, a good big backman and a fair dinkum ruckman ( pay overs) and move Marshall to CHF- forget about Bing and we could kick 14 goals a game with a competative team.

I must be watching a different coffield
To me he is calm under pressure
creates space for himself in tight, Is very good by foot, reads the play and can has a turn of speed…also takes a good grab, he moves a lot like Lenny Hayes.
Let’s not forget, Petracca was putrid until 2020
He is calm when he's got the footy and standing up.

I'm not disputing any of what you've said.

What I did say is that he struggles to win contested footy and fumbles at times when the ball is in dispute.

He's a completely different player to Petracca.

I don't doubt his talent one bit, but I don't see him ever being a genuine mid other than a wingman.

Where are we going to get this top end talent? The midfield is average but I keep hearing how good it is and how good it is going to be...how? Steele is the man...and that is ad nauseam x 50, ........Jones and Crouch are good campaigners, Dunstan is almost gone (ave 25 disposals a game)and the others have not proved themselves yet. A few coming back from injuries. Where is the speed apart from Jones? This midfield would not be striking fear into a lot of teams, there is no brute power about it at all. The forward line is probably the strength of the team and will sneak us into the finals in 2022
Exactly why we need to use this years first on a mid.

Agree nothing like Petracca and agree with your response, that was more about development timeline

I also think McLean or Flynn are ideal as a support to Marshal. Would look at both if possible.

Narkle and Constable are so 2019.
Surely there are others?

We can afford Cerra money wise, but can't satisify the trade requirements with what else we need to do.
Only assuming we need a first next year to get king, I feel like we could get cerra and another late first with a combination of our first, future picks and players like battle and Ross.

Not saying I want to get him but he's an attractive target.

I don't think size is an issue at all in our midfield.

Steele, Crouch, Bytel all big bodied mids and hopefully another off season in the gym and Clark can work on those spagghetti arms as well.

We really need a bit more class in there IMO, someone that can cover the ground like Walsh and Merrett etc.

If they happen to have a bit of size well that's just an added bonus I guess.
Park Clark in the Gym and tell him we will see you after Christmas

Joffaboy coming through with the goods. If recent history is any indicator, we're pretty good at getting who we want

Thanks for your contribution FlamingoBoy

We built a list from 2000-2004 that competed right up until 2011. We then had to try and rebuild through heavily compromised draft. Along the journey we haven't had one Academy or Father son gift to kick us along.

2014 was a **** up with McQualter, Cain Ackland and McGough. After Brendan Goddard our drafting fell right away. We definitely had the bulk of the list built then ran it into the ground. I don't worry about what you can't control with FS picks etc, but what we could control we didn't get right and it cost us right up until Lethlean arrived. How no-one at the club noticed is what I can't work out.
