Yeah but they haven't yet. And the club seems to think Marshall is a second ruck so they're chasing a 200cm guy to be first ruck.

Max has actually done quite a bit of ruck work in the forward line.

Once he’s a bit more physically developed then there’s no reason why he can’t give us a rotation in the ruck (especially against fellow back ups).

Ruck work isn’t as much of an injury risk at it was before they brought in the current rules.

Max King IS cloned. Its not just a 'family connection' FFS King B is an exceptional player.
Unbelievable [emoji849][emoji849]

How many times did we wish we had two Nick Riewoldt’s?

Simple decision IMO.

If only Ben was 195cm instead of 202. Seems that would make all the difference to many.

Necessary..??
Don't even go there, some of my best friends at work are gay and non of them would give two sh1ts about my post, you would be suprised how open they are if you actually knew any , maybe you do know some gay people but from my experience 90% plus embrace being gay and they generally say things that shock me , not the other way around

So GC will be interested in Dunny as a rookie only..hope he knows now how he is rated externally too.

Tells a tale about our list through the 10's eh?

Newnes. No trade interest, taken as DFA

Steven. 4 x BnF and traded for a junk pick

Dunstan. Delisted and zero trade interest. Likely to be taken in rookie draft.

Lonie. Shopped around twice with no interest.

Ross. 2 x BnF . No suitable interest from other Clubs so appears hes going to take our 2 year deal.

700-odd games between them.

I think it should be added that twins are more likely to have twins. If we get Ben, and they both have twins we might one day have a spine of FB King chb King CHF King ff King
What a sight that would be

Just dawned on me that we could have perfectly timed King and Riewoldt father son generations for the next 100 years. AND COMPOUNDING, HOORAH!!!

i feel your pain. it's not so much the free hit for mine. the problem i have is the inequity the AFL have created.

the best thing the AFL ever did was implement mechanism to try and level the playing field between the haves and have nots. the salary cap and draft create a more even competition and ensured clubs didnt go bankrupt out spending each other. they went a step further and then implemented a soft cap in footy dept spending that was causing more inequity and clubs again running the risk of going into financial peril for an artificially inflated market/arms race.

but the handling of the academies has gone completely against these key pillars and their very objective of making the comp as even as possible.

this started with the academy given the Sydney/GWS/GC instead of evening that up, they caved to the wants of the big clubs and granted everyone a zone. like they learnt nothing from when zones were used and didn't understand the very reason of having a draft. people warned them about this and they were so tied to the power clubs, they ignored it. but when a pick 1 went to a club playing finals and a powerclub missed out on their prized pick 1 talent, suddenly it was a problem. coincidentally at a time when some power clubs faced a rebuild: richmond, adelaide, geelong, wce, hawthorn, collingwood.

suddenly the integrity of the draft and equalization is an issue again. colour me shocked.

so they identify it has to go. fine.

but then they just close the door on it, straight away. meaning 1/3 of clubs have had an unfair advantage. 2/3 of clubs miss out. Sydney/GWS/Brisbane/GC still get to benefit from it.

its just messed up.
Yep the AFL is a joke.
like I suggested last year, they needed to phase it out in a way that it wouldn’t disadvantage teams with current NGA players.

make it something like only players who had been in the academy for 2+ years before 2021 would be able to get picked up by the team that developed them. Not just an arbitrary protected top 20 selection (which should’ve been 10 anyway).
It has just meant that Bulldogs and North especially have been able to land very highly rated draft picks, whilst other teams miss out.

Getting less and less with the ball being thrown up more and more too

But if we are talking about getting Bing then the available mid would need to be Sam Walsh rather than Adam Cerra.

Yes , but Trading for a player is not calling out his name in the draft. So I am talking about using Pick 9 (11) in the draft..

Tradewise Bing is not joining us for Pick 9 (11). Especially if we try and trade him in now as he is contracted. If Bing chooses to walk at the end of next year, then we will be a good chance to land him, but tradewise he will still not be cheap.

GC would not take Pick 9 (11) plus Battle for Bing.

Sam Walsh certainly would not be cheap either.

Cerra will cost the Blues their Pick 6, or a very good player.

Collingwood got two 1st rounders in Quaynor (13) and McInnes (23). Both at times when they had finished high.

To be fair Jack look only fair until Richmond became a powerhouse.

Remember Junk time Jack.

Also our last namesake, Goddard didn't go so well
We only pick the shit relatives

Goddard, Winmar, Rice

What coulda been with….

JRoo, Bont, Bowey, Ralphsmith & Koschitzke v2.0 🤣

On a serious note however, we really need to start playing the "54 year drought" to the AFL at any opportunity. They made it impossible for Ben to leave GC a couple of years back. They can also make sure we get him for nuddin.

Too right.
They can start by giving us a first round compensation pick for the 11 Brownlow-vote getter we are sadly losing 😉

I think you'll find that HQ want Gold Coast to win a flag more than they want us to

If it’s Gils last year in charge, he better arrange his team ( Saints) go out with the best chance of winning a flag.
