Even kids? I wouldn't have thought that many would be double vaxxed, maybe 40 or 50%.
That was my understanding when it was announced in November and a lot of people were pissed off their kids wouldn't be double vaxxed before the Test was on and also the BBL.

Ch9 reporter's tweet when announcement was made last November.

Jeez, even over here kids don't need to show any proof of vax, and McGowan is desperately clinging onto his restrictions for dear life.

I do remember laughing at people needing to wear a mask watching the test in Adelaide though when it was about 40 degrees in the sun - you guys have that fruit loop CHO so it wouldn't surprise me if you're right.

12.01am today all restrictions re masks and double vax were lifted from AO.

Masks now only needed in the standard high risk settings, age care, disable care, hospitals, public transport, airport and on planes. Better late than late.

I thought Fox just took the 7 feed? You reckon there's some adjustment going on?

Well that's what I thought too, but when I switched to streaming on foxtel there was a noticeable difference in crowd noise. The quality of picture and the fact it was a good 10 seconds behind the 7 coverage were the negatives, but I ended up preferring that option over a soulless atmosphere.

One thing, it was good 7 put the game on their main channel in Brisbane, it should occur more often in nsw and qld.

Something else with 7 I noticed tonight, full stadium and no crowd noise/ atmosphere. I thought to myself gee the gabba is usually loud what's going on. I turn over to fox and same broadcast, but great atmosphere and crowd noise through the speakers.

The same as last year's grand final on 7, it would be good if these idiots would turn up the crowd noise and down the commentators, the balance is completely off and ruins the enjoyment.
You sure that's not because 7 use surround sound and Foxtel are still using stereo sound.

No idea, how many people have surround sound though? I would have thought you'd accommodate for the majority. Today's game seemed ok though, so it might just be the occasional bigger game they turn it down. I remember Anzac day and the gf sounding like there were only about 10k there, when at the stadium it would have been loud as **** I'm sure.

Top rating matches this year across the AFL and NRL - all matches rating over a million including FTA/Fox/Kayo estimates (excluding NZ for the NRL)

The fun part about the season opener is the gain from initially reported prelim overnights to consolidated +7 was 230,000 viewers.. You might see a 20 or 30,000 differential at most generally...

So the Roos/Dogs game wasn't national at all - it was only shown on FTA in Melbourne? You have to wonder what all the fuss is about. It's not a blockbuster slot at all. At least not with that game.

Pretty shitty ratings in Perth, although I can hardly blame most Eagles fans for switching off when it was 50 to nil.

would it be fair to say the season opener of last year's grand finalists was a success?

I always thought it was funny how the AFL didn't put the blockbuster tag for those games.

I still feel like GF rematch is better later on. Get a bump ratings anyway and potentially more seasoned match. Or at lest not on Wednesday Night, annoys me from a attendance point of view.
