ACL confirmed for top 10 draft chance mercurial forward/mid Brayden George who has been likened to a young Christian Petracca.

Interesting to see where he lands now.

What does he offer that Matteas Phillipou doesn't from an Adelaide view?
Phillipou is the youngest player by a fair margin over the top end prospects, the biggest already of the top end midfield prospects, a goalkicking midfielder, versatile in that he has genuine forward talent, excellent overhead, moves well in traffic, penetrating kick. NO GO HOME FACTOR.
I would have thought Mckenzie has more burst speed, and is slightly better by foot? Probably gets a bit more of the ball as well, though I haven't checked that.

Phillipou has him for height and overhead, and probably will have him for size around the contest?

A top club who can afford to warehouse him for a couple of years while he makes a full recovery. Probably need to have plenty of good picks so able to potentially burn one, and be in Victoria, he's from up on the Murray, Tatura?

Phillipou for a big man, seems to make really good decisions in traffic. Seems to be able to elevate himself and see the bigger picture or play. That's a talent in itself for someone his size. Walker is the best example of that for us at the moment and we definitely need more of this, especially in our midfield. Too often our midfielders just hand ball to the person closest or next to them. We need someone who can see the game at another level in the midfield.

I thought that was one thing in particular that Hateley was doing well when he had that run of games in the middle as well, creative and attacking handballs not just getting rid of the ball ASAP

This is the best of Clayton Oliver IMO.

I better go and watch a highlight video of the kid because every time I hear the word Phillipou, I keep picturing the tennis player Philippoussis and I don't want to be reminded that tennis exists.
He hit Delta, so hats off to him. :$

Mutineer, thoughts on Elijah Hewett?

He seems to have good break away speed, agility, strong overhead, reasonable off both sides and most impohas a lot of grunt.

What are his improvement areas?

Bit disappointing at the Nationals with only one outstanding game, most expected more from him against the better opposition.
Consitent involvement across 4 quarters,

Thinking back twelve months when the Dawson trade was announced, Sydney desperately wanted our first pick in the deal.

What followed was a four way shuffle of picks etc which even the PlayStation traders (me included) didn't image. We held our nerve and completed a terrific trade for the club.

It feels like groundhog day to me as we're currently looking at the identical scenario.

I think the club has something up it's sleeve again. It just feels like it.

If we keep pick 5…

Watch Adelaide pick this lad… guaranteed!

Has Hamish and the boys written all over him..

The only thing it doesnt mention is what sort of home he comes from!
Why would he be such a bad pick?
He's actually one of the best in this draft at delivering into the forward 50, a true two way runner, exceptionally good inside the contest and a very good link up player outside the contest.

Oh and did I mention his old man Steve Clark is a footy coaching legend around the Geelong area so that covers off the good family too..LOL

IF we keep pick 5.

Why would we NOT pick Phillipou? Seems an absolute no brainer lock at that pick. Local, what we need, underage potential.

Apart from the Port supporting, what possibly could we say no to realistically?

If we had list spots, we would I suspect we would be all over that Cowan bloke from Tassie too.

Bit list spots at a premium, I guess we get whatever at our first pick then try for Keeler/Michalanney
