The Camporeale boys are two years away. If the nominate father/ son and if their trajectory continues. Then they have to develop sufficiently to theoretically be a part of a premiership team.No need to draft for wings this year.
We have a OBrien, Cottrel as back up and would look at training Carrol for that role next year.
We will get the 2 Campo’s next year.
We need a forward / mid who is damaging and can updgrade Owies! Honey role.
The rest of the draft should see a focus on developing KP stocks.

OMac was delisted today with Newnes and ParksThe Camporeale boys are two years away. If the nominate father/ son and if their trajectory continues. Then they have to develop sufficiently to theoretically be a part of a premiership team.
If Vossy remains reluctant to use Walsh on a wing or repurpose other players Doc, Kemp, Carroll we need to address wing options.
I like Acres (and Sholl) and would not complain if we acquire him/them, but I do believe we have players to fill the role(s) already on the list IF we “tweak” the game plan. It is why I like Hollands in the draft, could start on a wing for a year or three and progress in to the middle when we get vacancies.
No denying an x-factor mid size forward to be a nice option, but mid forward connection and two way running remains a higher priority for me.
Shaping like we are keeping McDonald and S.Durdin who complement Weiters and Young just fine in defence for the next few years. With McGovern, Marchbank and Kemp as third talls, we are covered in defence. Note: If OMac is retained, I am confident his issues are resolved (reference C.Curnow)
We need a developing key forward (or two) from this draft. To kill two birds with one stone, so to speak, there are multiple potential draftees who could also assist in the ruck to varying degrees Keeler, Northam, Foster and a handful of others at various likely levels of the draft. It doesn’t need to come from the first round, we don’t need generation next (although it would be nice), depth is the major need, and a viable target structurally in the seconds.
Well aren’t you clever. The post was written prior, we are all aware now, so what is your point?OMac was delisted today with Newnes and Parks

Ok got it. They are 2 years away. I still think we can train Carrol on a wing next year and we still have OBrien and Cottrel who have both improved. If we draft a midfielder they need to have a strong running capacity to start out on a wing.
I still think our gaps are medium forward and key position stocks.

I was warming to him as our pick but I don’t want another injury prone player so pass on him.
Beat me too it

Now I want him with our second pick...Damn I really wanted Brayden George with our first pick
Now I want him with our second pick...
10 and 1 of kemp/mcgovern for 5 and 2nd rounderPlowman?
Why? Who are you targetting with 5? Would have to be exceptional.10 and 1 of kemp/mcgovern for 5 and 2nd rounder
The deal is based on the premise that the player @ 5 is a level up from the player @ 10. Is Sheezel more suitable and superior than those on offer @ 10Why? Who are you targetting with 5? Would have to be exceptional.
I'd rather keep both then take best available at 10.

Thinking Gold Coast would be upset not getting #5 for RankineFor the sake of argument, let's play this out a bit...
Say Gov wants to go home to Adelaide, and Adelaide are keen to have him back. If you were Adelaide, would you take 10 & Gov for 5? (forget the 2nd round back, that's not gonna happen) I'm dubious, but ok, say they accept the deal. We've now got pick 5. This becomes pick 6 when Ashcroft gets picked (likely 1, certainly by 2).
We won't get Sheezel, and probably unlikely to get Tsatas, they're the two I'd love to have got by shifting up the order, but don't see it happening. Wardlaw likely also off the table, hard to say how far he drops after injuries, but unlikely to be out of the top 5.
Busslinger might be there, and slots straight into the role Gov had, longer term likely to fill a key defender role.
If he's not, then it's the likes of Clark, Phillipou, Mackenzie, Hewett, or for a tall option Cadman. All look likely prospects, but there's a decent chance one of these would have been available at our pick 10 anyway.
My feeling is that there isn't likely to be a huge difference between 5 and 10 - the players we'd really be keen on will be off the table, all we get is first choice of the next group (which would be great to have by the way, but not worth paying a big price for). Also, I think we'd have to pay a lot more for the pick swap than what is mooted. And if we were going to be paying a high price I'd want it to be to WC or GWS for a really good result.
For sure. It's not gonna happen.Thinking Gold Coast would be upset not getting #5 for Rankine
