Not putting him down. Reality, even though I’ve been vocal in saying I’m not a fan of LOB.Thinking my preference too, but let’s not put one player down to promote another.
Here is current Round 2 order:
22. GWS Giants
23. West Coast Eagles
24. Western Bulldogs
25. Essendon
26. North Melbourne
27. Sydney Swans
28. Collingwood
29. West Coast Eagles
30. Collingwood
31. St Kilda
32. Carlton
33. Fremantle
34. GWS Giants
35. St Kilda
36. Port Adelaide
37. Hawthorn
38. Melbourne
If we want to move up the order, who would we like to get ahead of, and how?
And if the * pick is the likely go to, would St Kilda also try to get it?
There was talk we were interested in Freo's pick 30 (now 33) leading into yesterday.More chance of gaining that pick from Swans, Pies or WC
Love what Sydney did last night. Played GWS like a fiddle and pulled Hawks pants down in that trade.
I've often wondered why more teams don't do what Sydney did last night.
Why not bid on players and force clubs hands instead just allowing clubs to take them easy with a nice discount on points on top. Force their hands. The only thing is you need to be ready to take the player should the club not match - though I doubt that would happen often (within reason) as they've already made the commitment pre-draft to the kid and the family.
I'm not sure it will be for sale.Swans pick 27 would be a good get…
I like the way your thinking. We got the gut runner, now add genuine speed/burst and at least one KPP

Interesting to see what we do from here… Are we going to get those extra picks or keep what we have?
What type of players are we targeting?
X-Factor
George (would love him, subject to DD or Hotton)
Elite Pace
Burgiel or Smith (are we admitting Philp and Cuners are busts?)
KPF
Keeler, Scully, Lemmey or Foster (A big need IMO - Keeler my preferred option, Scully #2)
Ruck
Barnett (surely Keeler/Scully can cover off as a backup 2nd ruck? And there's Mirkov who should debut in '23)
KPD
Hayes or Van Es (with Durdin there, why the need for another KPD?)
Okay, thought they were keen on obtaining some future picks for points…I'm not sure it will be for sale.
Beatson on Sunday was pretty clear that they still wanted a pick in the 20s.

I reckon Brayden George if he is still available.
His five goals in Round 1 and six in Round 5 were particular highlights, until a knee injury ruled him out for several weeks. Upon a steady return, he unfortunately tore his ACL early into his second game back.
Despite the frustrations of being stuck on the sidelines for much of the year, George displayed glimpses of high-end talent which will likely be enough to see him feature within the first couple of rounds of the National Draft. There are few players who can do what he does inside attacking 50.
Key position player who could be around our next pick after George . Ethan Phillips watch this guys highlights package is ready made to go.
Ethan Phillips
Height: 196cm
Weight: 90kg
D.O.B: 17-07-1999
Leagues: Vfl, NAB League Boys
There seem to be few more readymade key defensive options around the country than Ethan Phillips, the winner of this year's Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal. The Port Melbourne defender was in contention to be drafted out of the junior pathway, but has emerged again as a prospect at 23-years-old. The Borough backman was resolute across 15 VFL outings this season, putting up ridiculous intercept numbers as the standout young player in the competition.
Phillips' game revolves around intercepting, a crucial part of modern day defending. He averaged a whopping 11.5 intercept possessions and 5.1 intercept marks for the Borough, also getting his fist in for 3.7 spoils per game. Needless to say, he proved difficult to get past with such astute reading of the play and commitment to the aerial contest. Plying his trade against AFL-listed forwards in the semi-national state league, his efforts were well under the eye of recruiters.
The mature-ager will look to become yet another Fothergill-Round-Mitchell medallist to enter the top flight directly after taking out said honour, and his skillset offers arguably much of what is required to be a tall defender in the AFL. Having built his frame and become established at a high level, Phillips is now more ready than ever to make the step-up.
And if we use pick 57 Adam D’ Alioa or Mitch Szybkowski will add great midfield depth and really suit our game plan under Voss

ANALYSIS
SUMMARY
SNAPSHOT: “A contested ball-winning beast who has been a top performer at every level.”
There’s not much that Adam D’Aloia hasn’t achieved in his junior career. In 2021 he was best on ground in the SANFL Under 18 Grand Final, leading his side to victory against a more-fancied Glenelg outfit. He captained South Australia at State Under 17 level and performed strongly as a bottom-ager for South Australia’s Under 19 side.
His 2022 campaign was once again filled with outstanding performances and individual accolades. As captain, D’Aloia was named South Australia’s MVP at the Under 18 Championships and won the Team First Player Award for good measure, before also taking out All Australian honours. Although a SANFL League debut eluded him, D’Aloia dominated at every level and established himself as one of Woodville-West Torrens’ best players in their Reserves side.
D’Aloia has a strong appetite for the contest and is an elite first possession winner. He’s also willing to get his hands dirty defensively, and is capable of laying some big tackles. A relentless competitor who wills himself to have an impact on the contest, D’Aloia has been a model of consistency throughout his junior career, while also demonstrating qualities of strong leadership and professionalism.

ANALYSIS
SUMMARY
SNAPSHOT “A big bodied inside ball winner, Mitch Szybkowski is not afraid to use his frame to push opponents around to give himself the best position around stoppages, following up with clean distribution to outside runners.”
Impressing enough as an Under 17 Vic Country representative to earn AFL Academy Selection, Mitch Szybkowski has had a consistent year at all levels as an inside midfielder, using his frame and positioning to devastating effect around stoppages to be a prime first possession winner. Szybkowski has been an increasingly important player the higher level he’s played, being rewarded for his efforts in feeding the ball out from the inside to the likes of Oliver Hollands and Jhye Clark at National Championships level. Representing Dandenong Stingrays and leading the side to the 2022 NAB League Grand Final, the onballer has consistently been among the most productive players in the Victorian competition, and able to adapt to the next level for Vic Country.
I honestly think if we could pull this off how great of a draft we could have
