FWIW after paying closer attention to Collingwood through the finals, I think Hollands is the perfect fit (if you acquire an inside mid during the trade period) for you guys, work rate means he's very rarely not in space for a defense to offense transition and you guys looked your most dangerous against Geelong when you got the ball into space, a hard runner with his clean disposal (when in space) would suit well.

Fully agree - some pace and two-way running in the midfield is exactly what I'm after, given we seem to be keen on acquiring mature inside mids

Not sure we’ll draft another Ollie 😉

Really like this article.

Ive been thinking about this comparison for a while, particularly in light of people on bigfooty talking down Ashcroft. It’s so similar to the Daicos critics last year.

Kid will be a super talent at AFL level. There’s obviously differences around the edges, but like Daicos, he just has ridiculous footy IQ and work rate.

You only have to look at Daicos this year to realise those traits are super rare. Even at AFL level.

From Geelong isn't he. No way Im going down that path again.
Just my personal opinion but I cannot believe the amount of players that return “home” after being picked interstate. What an adventure it would be. I get that people have diff priorities but it’s made out like you give up your family / friends when you move rather than seeing it the other way.
I’m going the long way here but I’m eventually getting to my thoughts on going “home” 50 mins down the road. I’ve waited longer for pizza.

I haven't watched much of Ashcroft (I often don't when it's someone we have 0 chance at), but in what I've seen he reminds me a lot of Tom Mitchell. Will be an A grade mid

IMO he’s pretty different to Mitchell. Runs super hard to be involved in chains, and has a real balance of inside outside game.

There are a lot of similarities with Daicos. Nicks ball use is superior, but Ashcrofts contested work is in front. But ultimately it’s their work rate and footy IQ that are most similar.

Probably reminds me of a young Ben Cousins a bit.

Better head on his shoulders than Cousins, thankfully. I wonder if Brisbane will use him like we used Nick early, i.e. not immediately roving.

After the game on the weekend, I wonder if Cadman and Jefferson will go as high. I'm not saying they won't but the midfield stocks are getting stronger and that doesn't include the midfielders from the rest of the country. I can see Jefferson slipping but he does have some tricks

Cadman’s game was super impressive in my opinion.

I know we don’t agree on him, but I really think North will be considering taking him at Pick 1. He would fill a real area of need for them.

I’d also be scared as hell taking a junior like Wardlaw so highly with such a significant soft tissue injury history.

Jefferson is still a mid teens pick IMO. He is a low possession goal kicker.

I thought Cadman was great also, I'm just really curious where he'll go.

Agree with this. Cadman is super impressive and would compliment their forward line in a couple years time imo.

Hell even if they went with Sheezle I think that’s more of a solid pick. And they would be hoping Phillips comes along too.

Get bid at Pick 1 with what Nick has done in his Rookie Season

Most draft boards have Cadman at 4-5, would you trade up if we had currency with a Grundy and Oliver picks ?
