I can't see us taking 4 picks at the draft.

Noble needs to be upgraded.

I'm guessing 2 plus Noble or 3 plus Noble depending upon who is available at Pick 27.

We have no choice but to add 4 senior list players, as we currently have 32 including Noble, minimum is 36.

So you're either looking at a DFA pickup and three ND picks, or 4 ND picks.

Only way around this is to promote Ginni but that has to happen before the ND, but that doesn't really make sense anyway because we're already delisting Murley and putting him onto the rookie list which is why we've got 4 senior list and zero cat A rookie list spots available.

I was reading several articles on Barnett a few days ago. Described by several scouts as a clearance beast like Grundy, but very good contested/overhead mark, kick, jumps high and a good tap ruckman. Can play forward. Agile. Reportedly still growing

If he also has a Tank, then he sounds like a perfect replacement for Grundy.

Correct, here is the current state of play:

Thanks partypie - looking at that list, can't help thinking that we need another tall forward in the 22 - 24 age bracket . Clear exposure in the ruck - still think there's improvement in Cox as a ruckman but if he goes down, I don't like the Cameron/Begg combination (I think the Cox/Begg combination could work). Mitchell fills a big hole and am looking forward to seeing how he influences the young in-side mids and our clearance work. For me, it's best available at 16, a KP at 25, if there's nothing we like at 27, look to trade 27 and 51 for a F2nd, promote JN and look to the Rookie/PSD for an emerging/mature ruck - keep a slot for the MSD as we've nailed that the past few years and hopefully we can jag another gem there. Target a key forward in the 22-24 age bracket next year.

Question is do we use Pick 51 or hold.

Richards is under 180cm - about 176cm (height varies from source-source).

That would give us Hill, Murley, Richards and Elliott at standing under 180cm.

i dont think height is that much of a problem if you have a weapon, Richards looks to have a few, speed, ability to win clearances , elite on both sides of the body and knows where the goals are, not to mention his delivery to a leading forward.

clearly we need some key position players with our first few picks, but if he is available later on, wouldnt hesitate

Jeez it’s going to be funny to read the melts when we completely overlook the available talls that are getting thrown around.

The only one that’s sounded remotely tantalising potentially in that 15-30 range is Busslinger and he’s probably gone at WC’s 2nd pick. He looks to have the narrow build with wide shoulders that usually carries the additional mass as they develop and his intercept game is supposedly strong. Without his wingspan and repeat sprint numbers though I’m a bit in the dark on him.

For me the decision to retain Kelly and the ?’s over Frampton and Dean (it’s possible 2 of the 3 might have a line through them post 2023) lend toward KPD being a hole still. Realistically though it has to be best available with our list profile aside from a ruck with that 4th list spot.

I don’t know what you’re looking at if you’re not impressed by Barnett’s highlights, as a tall who should go in the 20’s.

Thanks.

I thought if we only had a list size of 36 we could have 8 rookies (A and B)?

Therfore from your list we currently have:
32 main list (including Noble upgrade)
6 rookie A (including Murley downgrade)
1 rookie B

Outcome:
4 main list spots for National Draft and PSD
1 rookie spot. Does the rookie spot have to be a Cat B ot can it be a Cat A?

Busslinger is in my top 10.

Best available is probably the best policy for us given we're unlikely to be fielding too many debutants from this draft this year. We can always do a Geelong and target out of contract stars from this draft in two years.

So , you're saying that spots 15-30 will be filled by midfielders and flankers besides maybe Busslinger? That doesn't leave much hope for us

I think the whole idea of this draft for us is to get 2 bookends which we can develop at our own pace, that's why we got McStay and Frampton. We will take best available talls in this draft with our first 2 picks

Wait, why is the link weird?
Chief blocked the links to KM’s espn articles because he was posting them instead of manually inputting his power rankings/phantoms to BF.

It was a childish, dick move imo, and resulted in KM not posting on BF anymore, hence no almanac for 2022 on the D&T board.
