Re: next year hoping we’re getting him to tank and come across more “injured” Keeler to replace Fogarty if traded

Straight swap with Pies - Fogarty > < Poulter
again..

fogarty doesnt have to go anywhere.. he’s contracted.

and how do you know Poulter wants to leave the pies?

all this trade players against their will talk is, and always has been, fanciful bullshit.

That I can agree with...them play stations really get a work out on Big Footy hey...

Poulter seems like wishful thinking at this point, particularly if he gets back in the Pies’ side later this season and does well

I don’t think Fogarty looking for more opportunity is a stretch, though, if we say to him ‘you’re not gonna be getting that many games at all next year’. If a club gives him a deal until 2024 and greater opportunity, he probably takes it

Makes sense
  • Fog goes gets more game time
  • Poulter- see above

Fill a need for both teams

Come the end of the season and Fog hasn’t broken back into the Seniors for an extended period it would be malpractice by his management to not put feelers out and see if anyone can offer him a starting 22 spot.

It might be Fog bringing to us a trade request to move for greater opportunity. Happens all the time across the league. Now what we would get in return I agree with you. It would be 2/5ths of stuff all.

What are those weapons?
The only thing he has over Laird is more height, but he still doesn’t have better inside numbers.
More creative play maker. Better vision when under pressure.
That said, I'm not bagging Laird, just giving my opinion of the two.

You say a lot of good stuff on here - but responding to every trade suggestion with "pLaYsTaTiOn tRaDe" is really the most pointless, closed minded thing you post.

If you don't want to discuss trades, ignore the posts where people suggest them.

Multiple contracted players get traded every single year.

Poulter isn't getting games - he's getting less opportunity this year than Fogarty has.

Its Completely unrealistic - but here is my list of players we should target.

1. De Goey - throw the check book at him. Highly unlikely he will want to go to Adelaide. But it's a dream. Is the exact player our list lacks and needs.

2. Dunkley - Use a bit less cash than we throw at De Goey.

3. Rankine - Talented, but unsure whether he will want it enough. Worth the risk though. Pairing him and Rachele

4. Luko - Has slipped down a little, more based on the emergence of Frampton, Himmelberg and Gollant. I would still love to have him, especially if he stays hurt all year and the trade costs less.

5. Francis - Worth the risk. Hugely talented, but obviously mental health issues have been a limiting factor. A move to SA might be enough to re-invegorate his career. Will be 25 when the 2023 season starts so he fits perfectly into our list age profile.

Let’s be more adventurous. This is a list of impossibles, and SA recycles and retreads.

We need quality through the middle, who might fit the bill?

No such thing as impossibles. I’d ask the question of Rowell and Anderson, Green and Ash.

Let’s see who GC/GWS love more and focus in on the other. Pay a couple first rounders to get them in.

No-one realistic, tbh, unless we delve into contracted players

Parfitt maybe, but I’ve cooled on him

The way I see it we are limited to the following:

SA ties - Betts, Dawson, Thompson.

Rejected out of staters - Lynch, Jenkins, Seedsman, Keays, Jacobs.

Occasional offer to superstar - Carey, Cameron (unsuccessful).

Jacobs and Seedsman weren’t ‘rejected’, from what I remember. The rest you have right, I think

Its a long time ago, but I thought that Jacobs was in a massive competition for the 2nd ruck job at Carlton. They had Kruezer as their #1 with Warnock, Hampson and Jacobs fighting it out for 2nd Ruck duties.

Seedsman also wasn't entrenched at Collingwood. Played a combined 21 games in 2014/2015 before the Pies accepted pick 32 for him.

Perhaps Rejected was a little harsh, maybe slightly undesirable is a better term.
