what spots?…Surely he would considering for 1 of our 2 list spots.
last year wasnt “a few years ago”?.. he hasnt even been at the club 12 months!..We drafted Parnell in the MSD a few years ago.
pretty sure he had something like 3 or 4 touches for the whole game in his last game V Norwood - I'd cool the jetts there - he is still very rawSurely he would considering for 1 of our 2 list spots.
It’s competing with all the basic football knowledgelast year wasnt “a few years ago”?.. he hasnt even been at the club 12 months!..

What meaningful difference is there in terms of list management?
Apologies, the 2020* and 2021** seasons are all a blur to me and sadly has also affected my basic football knowledge as well.last year wasnt “a few years ago”?.. he hasnt even been at the club 12 months!..

That's a long long time ago. I think he showed a bit as running defender for West Adelaide at U18's level but went undrafted
Surprised we'd have interest more a journey man than a star at SANFL level and at 25 it would be a strange addition IMO with so many youngsters to blood.
He played a lot of reserves footy for Westies as that inside bull with a nice kick.
A lot of recruiters were into him in his u/18 year but were worried about his attitude towards footy.
Seemed to have changed his life around but I agree, it would be a strange pick at his age.
Sholl is a good player who’s got a great kick. But this is our opportunity to sell high and try to get a good pick.
Sholl would go for a 3rd/4th round pick only. Say in the 40-50 range
If we want to we have 2 spots for Sloane & Seedsman.what spots?…
have we moved sloane and seed to the inactive list now?.. though the club, via Nicksy’s own words, said they wouldnt be taking anyone in the MSD?.. apparently we’re too “stacked“ already..
power have just moved Pacini to the inactive.. so they have a spot..maybe port have told him they want him..
And that is the worry - Looking at the draft from 2010 - 2015 here is a list of players in that 40 - 50 range that weren't F/S selections and played over 100 games:
2010 - Luke Parker (244), Alex Fasolo (104)
2011 - Jimmy Webster (121), Sam Rowe (100), Jordan Murdoch (122)
2012 - Tim Membrey (140)
2013 - Jake Koladashni (140), Tom Barras (105), Ben Brown (149)
2014 - Alex Neil Bullen (113), Caleb Daniel (143)
2015 - Blake Hardwick
Out of the 66 players selected between 12 were successful AFL players. Thats less than a 20% strike rate.
Draft is overated after pick 15 IMO.

Graham Johncock dislikes this![]()
Assuming Carlton finish top 8 and likely at best we would get a second round pick. So 4 years investment in a player that is undoubtedly AFL quality for say pick 30 ish?
Let’s trust our list management has more sense

Why do you automatically assume Carlton is a destination and that we’d get a pick 30ish in return?
What pick did we get for Lyons again? Also shows how shit the trade was for Keath. And that is the worry - Looking at the draft from 2010 - 2015 here is a list of players in that 40 - 50 range that weren't F/S selections and played over 100 games:

Can get him on a 6 month contract if he nominates it, so won't be long term, just for the rest of the season.
I get vibes that Hamish doesn't ever massively rate the mid-year draft.
We should be having a good look at Freo KPD stocks if they have so many to choose from.Melbourne clubs informed as Fremantle defender shuts down contract negotiations

Carlton have been active traders of late. Does anyone know what picks they have this year to bargain with?A pick in the 40s is what you accept for a player that's playing mostly reserves, you don't really think is AFL quality or only has a few years left.
Minimum you'd want for a best 22 player is a second round pick
