You want to trade Laird, move Keays back in the middle and keep Crouch???????

I was discussing Brisbane because you brought them up??? I’m not infatuated with them. They don’t need to be traded to Brisbane, just picks that get us their first as they’re after points.
No evidence, but if somebody enquired with a good offer to him and us, I’d not try to convince him to stay. Unless we’d already traded Keays out.
Why the infatuation with trading players to Brisbane, there’s 16 other clubs in the league that also have draft picks and employ players.
Sloane should be thanked for his time and offered a coaching position. If it gets us Rankine and closer to JHF, absolutely. Keeping Crouch isn’t a necessity, but losing Laird is no biggie to our next contending period. But I definitely wouldn’t choose to lose both him and Keays at end of this year.
And govt forget that Sloane is going to play half forward all next year. Something has to give and I don’t care if it’s Laird.

In the end its not up to them, they have to present the offer to their player, they can recommend against it but the player has the final choice. There was an interesting suggestion on twitter that suggested Rankine's management had told Dew that they wouldn't move players back to the Crows after what had happened the past few years.
Thought I'd look at who else they manage to see if there could be any truth.
They manage Rankine, along with, Brad Crouch, Matt Crouch, Eddie Betts and Stengle...

Did he say that? That's funny. He really is angry if Rankine cones to us. Lol.I can't see there being anyway we trade Keays. As a club I just can't see it happening. I wouldn't be against it though.
Got to be a better idea than Kornes' thinking that a Rankine trade will need Thilthorpe, or Fog + Rachele.
I don't know what that flog smokes, but holy hell it must be strong.
At another club.Sloane should be thanked for his time and offered a coaching position.
then spitballing a deal that might cut the mustardThey don’t need to be traded to Brisbane, just picks that get us their first as they’re after points.

Lose Laird and we're going to be forced to restart our rebuild in a year or two.
He's vital to make sure we get through this period and to the point our kids/next core are ready to be a finals contender, seeing how little quality we actually have at this point in time (we have the talent, but unrealized talent isn't particularly useful).
It's one of the lessons in Norths struggles this year. How important it is that your quality experienced guys are kept and how quickly it can spiral out of control when they're out (noting Cunningham got wiped for the year). The other sign of the coin is how it's nearly impossible to predict how kids will go, or when they'll be ready to take over (noting how Schoenberg has struggled this year).
You missed the "indigenous" players partThere was an interesting suggestion on twitter that suggested Rankine's management had told Dew that they wouldn't move players back to the Crows after what had happened the past few years.

We don't.then spitballing a deal that might cut the mustard
Adelaide
In: Rankine, Brisbane 2022 1st
Out: Pick 4 and 2022 2nd
GC:
In pick 4
Out: Rankine & 2 x 3rd round picks (picks 44, 52) - 44 & 52 + our 2nd rounder is equivalent to pick 11
(GC would still be left with picks 4, 8, 26, 31 & 34)
Brisbane:
In crows 2nd + 2 x 3rd round picks
Out: Brisbane 2022 1st
With their later picks they have enough points to match a bid at pick 1 with the discount
We would want to get on our bike and trade a couple of players out for the points for Michalanney
But we could walk away with Rankine, maybe Keeler and Michalanney...where do we sign![]()
ollie hollands likely to be there around Brisbane's 1st?We don't.
No quality midfielders in that scenario.
Crouch wants to go, but can he find a club interested in trading for him?Pretty much what I meant. Crouch is gone.
Thats just BS from the manager there..There was an interesting suggestion on twitter that suggested Rankine's management had told Dew that they wouldn't move players back to the Crows after what had happened the past few years.

Nathan Buckley springs quickly to mind, but that's going back almost 30 years.Would be stunned if JHF moved. When was the last time a really high draft pick (let alone a #1) moved after 1 year? I can see him moving next year, when his contract expires.
Rankine + a first round pick for a midfielder + Michaelanny would be a massive offseason. Surely one of the Crows best.
FTFY..Sloane should be thanked for his time and told to find a coaching position at another club..
Laird is contracted until 2026, and nothing in his performance suggests he’ll be done in 2 years.Laird will be done in 2 years, him going now won't have any bearing then. We'll be re-starting it anyway because we've not done it right and the focus all along has been maximising likelihood of winning each week, not accepting a touch more pain for future benefit. The only question to ask is what's left behind in the midfield rotation if he goes. A Lairdless midfield doesn't scare me, nit that I'd be giving him away.
Crouch wants to go, but can he find a club interested in trading for him?
He didn't find any buyers when he went looking 12 months ago, as a FA, albeit coming off a year out due to injury. His stocks have not risen since then. They weren't prepared to take him for free then, why would they be willing to trade for him now?

Richmond and Collingwood make sense, Hawthorn potentially if they want a cheaper downgrade on Mitchell and maybe get some extra draft picks. Its a good point. But I think there will be a couple of suitable clubs. Geelong?
DJ dropped the word "indigenous" thereThats just BS from the manager there..
There’s no way he’d actually mean that.. he’s just talking s**t.
1) he’s ultimately got no say in where his player goes. He can give advice but in the end if his player says “I want to go play for …….” then so be it.
2) in this instance as if he is gonna get upset cause his player has chosen a club that he would prefer not to deal with when that club is offering his player significantly more money.. and if he did, so what, he can dry the tears in his eyes with the shitload more commission he will earn from the deal..
I think our pick 4 remains off the table unless they offer pick 8 back. Why would GC give 8 back? Just can't see it happening.
Has that been confirmed? Why not? Makes sense with McStay leaving.
McStay? It's been reported for months.Has that been confirmed?
