records for Brisbane, Carlton, Collingowood, GWS, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs.

League is just 24,097 members away from passing last years record figures - probably alrewady has when you consider some clubs figures havent been updated since feburary and may

Fremantle now has the longest lasting membership record, going back to 2018 (55,639), while four clubs have records going back to 2019 (Crows, Hawks, Swans, Bombers) As always data link attached.

Both Collingwood and Richmond had a 25K jump in number after a premiership year. Day that Carlton and Essendon win one, I see the same happening.

Collingwood winning their next one will also bump their numbers to 100K+

Hawthorn numbers have gone backwards. Lowest since 2014. That is pretty poor but not surprising as I always felt Hawks were never as big as their membership numbers suggest.

Hawks figure is from eight weeks ago. Will end up similar to last year. 75k+ is pretty darn decent for a bottom six club the the middle of a premiership drought.

Whilst totally legit, the Hawks number is slightly misleading in absolute sense as it includes about 9,000 Tassie members.

Net this out and it’s probably in the high 60,000 which gives a better indication of its ‘real’ total. Having said this, it’s holding up nicely.

Nah, numbers are consistent - Hawthorn just update their figures every few months for whatever reason.

We'll go 75K + again - for the 7th year in a row - the only club in the league to have done so.

Carlton as at 1st July ...

Hawthorn broke their membership record each year for 11 years straight. Dropping back a few thousand when we’re bouncing around the bottom 6 isn’t bad at all.

Are aflw memberships included in the tally

And if so since there’s 2 seasons this year will that double count this year or next year? And inflate the numbers for either
No idea. I’m pretty sure they are if they aren’t a member of the men’s club bit

Mitchell was on SEN today and said that Hawthorn have “close to 80,000 members” which is as good as we’re probably going to get unless they tick over the 80k sometime soon and send out a tweet.

Better exclude my Essendon memberships then. Just remember in the game last year, the Essendon crowd dwarfed Hawthorn. Who knows how many Tassie members there are for Essendon?

About 2,600. However Essendon like most don’t play games there so in incentive to join apart from sense of belonging. Also, there’s a portion of the Hawks membership in Tassie that but a package to gain access, even though they may not barrack for the Hawks. Not meaning to denigrate the Hawks success in Tassie, just trying to see through it to better gus get the Hawks membership in a world where it wouldn’t be playing matches there. Putting aside any Tassie leg up to its overall figure, it points to a membership in the high 60,000’s which has them ahead of Melbourne and alongside Geelong.

Is revenue from memberships ever released? I’d prefer to see this than the numbers.
