That’s extremely sad for Rankine, but great news for the crows.

This cuts his value in half. Pick 25 we hand over the the Gold Coast. A degenerative hip injury, and now undisclosed behavior issues should see a trade value drop dramatically.

The Gold Coast football Club would not want any of that information to become public.

It's fairly obvious that they only offered two years for a reason. Pick 25-30 should get it done. GC have been trying to play us.

All year he has dominated and his kicking has been elite.

His defending 1v1 has been getting better as the year has progressed too.

We’re gonna miss him in defense next year. It will cost us games..

But oh well, he wants more AFL opportunity and the Pies sound like they are willing to give him more..

Our already very shallow KPD stocks/depth is about to become non existent.

Hope they have a plan..

Most likely the plan is Borlase. If Butts or Murray go down we are screwed. They should try Himmelberg down back and I trust we're trading in another KPD. Berg's brother has taken his game to a new level down back so maybe it could work here. They could also try Strachan in defence when not in the ruck. Strachan has pretty good skills for a big man. I would like to see Strachan and Thilthorpe in the ruck next year.

I would think our medical guys would already have looked at his medicals and more than likely given him the once over already if his Adelaide based management is doing their job...

Yep. We would have to offer him a token 1 year contract on minimum chips for him to have any trade value at all. Brisbane did this with Hinge and although he was technically delisted Crows and Brisbane facilitated a 'pick swap' where we essentially sent them a 4th round pick.

If we have half a brain we agree to trade him to Pies but we sign him up for 1-2 years and agree to pay his salary in exchange for a better pick. Collingwood have cap issues so would make some sense.

I'm not sure that's true. The final list lodgment is after the trade period. Frampton isn't allowed to train with Collingwood or do anything formal until after he joins their list. If he's not traded in time, he won't join until following the final list lodgment, which means he won't actually be able to rain etc until the new year.

If Collingwood have four draft picks, it's because they have four list spots. If they take Frampton, it means - at minimum - they can't use their last pick. It only makes sense to trade that to us.

Nope. He’s not delisted yet. Could still be a trade. But we basically have no leverage and it would be a throw away pick.

Crows gave Lions a future 4th for Hinge in a similar scenario.

If Pies really want Frampton, we should be able to extract one of their picks in late 40's or a future pick that may be part of a GC with Rankine if they need points for academy players.

I’d keep and play McAsey in the seniors before ever considering Cordy as an option on our list.

Melican is the one I’d be most interested in.

To me, Billy showed exactly why he isn't AFL level. He picks and chooses. He is inherently lazy.

I'm ecstatic to have him head off to the Pies VFL side.
