I would miss the banter, there's some bloody good people on here, yourself included.

I just share what I hear with other rusted on supporters. If it's wrong, it's not the end of the world. Sun will still shine tomorrow. There's only a few *******s that take themselves so seriously and write s**t at me. Couldn't worry me less.
You would miss me, yeah?

Hi Demons Fans & Draft Watchers - pardon the intrusion.

For those who might be interested I've created a thread over at the Draft hub about the BigFooty 2022 National Draft Crowdsourced Rankings (!!) which allows BF draft fans like yourself to participate in creating a 'crowdsourced player power ranking'. You can read about it on that thread or go straight to the survey site here to cast your own votes towards a crowdsourced ranking.

It's got close to 4000 votes since launching this morning so whether you're a draft guru or just an interested onlooker we'd love to have your input into this different approach to ranking the prospective draftees for 2022.

It's very simple - just go to Who is the better prospect for the 2022 AFL National Draft? and rank the player you think is better from each random pair that are shown...do it as many times as you like and see what player combos you get shown.

Below is a snapshot of the top 10 so far but you can see the full results here. Love to have you join in!

Note: the survey is about choosing which player you think is the better prospect so the scores you see below are the estimated chance (based on the BigFooty crowd responses) that a player will win (i.e. will be chosen) against any other randomly chosen player (from the pre-populated list of ~45 top prospects). For example, a score of 100 means the player is predicted to be selected every time and a score of 0 means the player is predicted to not be selected every time.

ill need to confirm this off demonland. Thats usually where all the highly accurate mail comes from.

It's like the Melbourne version of the Oracle of Delphi, complete with the cryptic ramblings and suspected psychedelic drug use.

I regularly chuckle at your posts, yes Proper Gander

I very often find myself reading your posts and thinking "you're silly proper gander, so silly"
I read that as you always reading my posts and being startled, or even dumbfounded, at my intelligence and sharp wit

The guy on their “Lord Nev” he’s a full blown mofo, akin to Tom Browne.
Thanks Cotchins.

clear this one up for me. There was a bit of chat around the time of the rumour about Alex Rance and Jack Higgins wife (subsequently entirely disbunked) that you were the author of said rumour?

Is this true and correct? I don’t have any desire to punish you if true, just to temper the emotions when you appear with more great intel

I’ll admit I’m not the best at trades and what not but I’ll give it a crack..

It seems Jackson is gone so would you be happy if we got picks and lobb?
Depending on the picks use one of Hayden McLean and if possible draft Aaron Cadman?

Lobb to play until Cadman was developed enough.
So for Jackson you’d have lobb McLean and Cadman

That’s obviously if it all worked out

If Jackson nominates Freo, surely we try to get Lobb in

He feels an obvious short term need

back up ruck/3rd forward

Got some better available/gettable options?
I don't see the point playing 3 forwards when we have Weid, Brown and Tmac and two of them are the worst pressure players in the league. Plus what do they want for Lobb? I don't think he gets us any closer to a flag at all. I'd rather someone like Gunston or Dixon and have Tmac ruck if he has too.

Lobb absolutely slaughtered us this year. he was probably best on ground. He's had a great year. I don't really want him simply because I'd rather hit the draft. I'd love Dixon though. I'd be ok if Brown and TMac never played again.

Cadman is looking like a top 5 pick at this rate. maybe around 5. So we'd have to trade up the draft to get him.

Fantastic that Gus is staying.
3 or 4 years would have been better but **** it, it’s a negotiation and the club can’t expect to have it all its own way in a deal with one of our top players.

Clear strategy of smoothing out big deals for current players over long term, with Jacko not re-signing we’ll have freed up plenty of cash to offer someone an attractive deal to replace him.

Makes sense to spread the money out over more years and retain our best players.

We're gonna be atrocious in six years or so when our salary cap is tied up in a bunch of players over 30, but if there's another flag or two in the meantime, I don't particularly care

Rapt that he's signed on.

I agree that the length of the contract is a bit of a risk, but along with him becoming one of our most important players, he's also one of the most important cultural cogs in the team. The value of that cultural aspect is hard to quantify, but losing it would have hurt.

It depends, if the club has front loaded a few and expect the salary cap to go up the deals might not be as terrible as we think by the time they get to 30.
