I think you're right. And pick 21 for Grundy is overs regardless of how much salary Collingwood pay. It's good to hear that Grundy is willing to take a salary cut though....assuming that we'll trade 33 and Bedford for 21, and use 21 on Grundy

My biggest issue with Hunter is I don't know how are we addressing our lack of foot speed? We have already lost Hunt, Jackson and Bedford (who was a fair chance to play more next season) and we're replacing them with Lachy Hunter, Spundy, and the inclusion of Tom Mcdonald? Spells trouble for me.
Petty surpassed Lever last year. Petty to Turner is a massive downgrade. But if Petty forward spells the end of Ben Brown then I'm all for it.
Am I the only person left on the board that doesn’t think Petty should go forward?
The bloke is a top 10 in the league key defender. Lever can’t defend 1v1 and Disco is a third tall.
If we’re being honest it is a total unknown whether Petty will make a good forward.
Surely to god there is a plan in the works to either trade for a recruit a key forward so we aren’t relying on a Hail Mary like throwing Petty forward.
Nope I'm 100% with you. I don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul by moving our second best defender forward. We have JVR to come into the side to replace Brown.Am I the only person left on the board that doesn’t think Petty should go forward?

I’m his sponsor tooYeah also * losing Harmes.
Don’t think the coaches rate him sadly, I do though![]()
Oh pipe down knuckles or I won’t be in your clique anymoreI know this Brian blokes type, we should be trying to trade in Rankine, Daicos, Gresham or some other gun
Josh Schache from the Bulldogs would be available for trade. Kicked lots of goals in the VFL in his last 2 games. He finally has enough muscle to not fall over like an Italian soccer player, so he has potential to become good. Ideal spot is CHF, he isn’t a deep forward at AFL level.
Completely surplus to Bulldog needs as we have JUH, Darcy, Bruce and Naughton in the first team. Also bringing in Lobb, so that is 5 tall forwards and Schache would be the easiest to get. I think Bruce is cooked, otherwise he would be a good 1 year stop gap.
Late Second round pick would probably be the asking price. Add Hunter and Schache for a second and third rounder? Either as future picks would probably be fine too.
Dees have met with Schache’s manager in the last few weeks, so this isn’t me bribing this up for no reason.

Oh for *s sake who let danster make important threads? I was wondering why there wasn't talk about the players coming and going.
Its a better plan than Gawn and Grundy playing forward.
My only concern with this plan is that Schache is absolutely terrible
No mate. If we bring in Schache we are kidding ourselves. Just what we dont need. Another Weid or Brown.

Second ruck is always going to play forward at some stage, but Gawn/Grundy types should be more decoys who demand a key defender than anything else.
If we do absolutely nothing to bring in another decent tall forward by trade or draft then yes we might need to weigh up whether Petty is worth a shot up forward. Bit of a worry if it's plan A at this stage of proceedings though.
I'm kind of baffled by Grundy taking a pay cut. His ideal is that he wants to stay at Collingwood for his original pay. Collingwood want to clear up the cash so they're trading him and even paying a portion of his salary, and he's still taking a pay cut to come to us?
Doesn't add up.
Crayfish? You have no idea who we did and didn't go for you bloody crayfish
