I actually had a dream last night that I was interviewing Brad Hill and he told me he was 100% coming to us and he couldn't wait. Now I rarely have dreams in relation to anything let alone footy ones.

So the news today is promising.
You're truly a 24 x 7 North man.

Watched one of the highlight videos of Clark on YouTube and some of the comments from (I'm assuming) Saints supporters were saying how he has that Pendlebury ability to slow time, and others saying he reminds them of Lenny Hayes.

If he comes to us and can live up to even half of that hype, we'll have done very well.

Also, and Saints fans can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought he was slated for more of a midfield role this year? Hope he doesn't mind playing half back if he comes to us, although I could also sort of see him as a part of our midfield rotation.

The idea of him and LDU playing in the middle is a pretty exciting prospect for us and probably in Hunter's mind as well.

“I wouldn’t go back to Hawthorn after what’s gone on,” Rioli told The Age.

“It’s the only club I wouldn’t put my hand up for right now"

Should Brady be speaking to Cyril? 33 now...... how'd that go for a PR exercise!
I'd had that thought as well.

Alternatively, if there's any money in the soft cap, offer Cyril a position mentoring our Indigenous players. Make it part of his role to ensure that our club genuinely culture supports Indigenous players.

I thinks it’s what ALL clubs need but yeah snagging Cyril in that role would be great.

Not sure how it would go if we retain Clarko though if it happens to occur that he can still coach after the investigation is completed.

But yeah it’s definitely something that we should be aiming for in the short/medium term.

I do think that the AFL will insist on some mentor/oversight role for indigenous players in the soft cap after this is over and done but not forgotten.

Having an indigenous role at AFL house is way to arms length away from the actual players.

I like it, but Cyril loves being back home with his family. I think (for him) there would be nothing worse than being in the city again.

From a Nth perspective Daniel Wells would be a fantastic person in that type of role. He always gave a lot of time to help develop younger indigenous players when he was at North.

Fly him in for 3 days a week. Gotta be a better option than that cat Roos fleecing us from downtown Honolulu

Get Lindsay Thomas back at the club

Clark, Hill, Logue, Tucker, Harvey, Pick 1 big upgrade on:
Turner, Walker, Walker, McGuinness, Bosenavulagi, Hayden

Then you have:
1. improvement from players
2. better coaching & new gameplan
3. improved morale
4. Phillips, Bergman, Cunnington hopefully fit.
5. JHF, Thomas, Stephenson all with such high potential that could they unlock and realistically only one has to hit for us to improve drastically
6. A blank slate

Should at least mean that footy is enjoyable again, no matter the result.

Gives us far more depth straight off the bat which is so important.

Development should also benefit with our VFL boys having some more mature bodies around them too.

Competition for spots should also drive better development….

Win-win-win.

Just hope we don’t neglect the draft. Ideally I’d still want a couple of picks inside the top 30 this year.

Another pick before Cooper would be nice.
3 picks max is looking like what we go with.
Pick 1 and Cooper already spoken for.

Think Brady has shown that he’s pretty competent in bringing picks in, so expect us to do something to try this.

FWIW I don’t think it’s the end of the world if we don’t get a pick outside of 1 in before Cooper. Logue and Clark being on the younger side + the fact we’ve added 5 draftees in consecutive years + the fact that this draft isn’t appearing to be a very strong one. If the compromise is one less kid, it’s fine.

A couple of saints posters are talking about a JHF trade. I’m assuming they are gunning for a booker prize for fiction ?

It was texted in to SEN earlier this week.
Sounds made up.
Yeah, we’d be getting far more than Clark and hill if true

They’ve also raised LDU, Pick 1 & Tarryn as requirements to trade Hunter Clark.

The funny thing is all of that list combined is as likely as one of that list.

l spoke to Daniel today about what he was doing nowadays and he said that he was doing something in relation to the indiginous culture program with Collingwood since he's retired.

Lindsay Thomas would be great in that role.
