you'd just offer bowes more years and spread the money out
He has had his money put off for 2 years already.
Be very surprised if he let it happen again.
This is cash he is owed from his current deal he is two years into.
Back of the napkin math.
His last deal was 500k pa for 4 years = 2mil.
He is owed 1.7mil over the next two years.
Therefore he has been payed 150k per year the last 2 years when owed the 500k.

There must be third party deals at least with the cats, for them to fit this dump or some guarantee for post retirement payments from a benefactor. This simply can’t add up

I just don't know how Ziebell comes back from he 2022 season. He was particularly mediocre, probably playing only 2 good-great games.

Mediocre is a bit generous, 17 goals and 7 assists from 19 games with donuts in 10 of those games. I think Curtis had a better year.

I firmly believe it's time to make player salaries public as a way to protect the integrity of the salary cap and is transparent. Unfortunately transparency is not in the AFL's dictionary so probably will never happen
It's fully transparent for some players...

We probably don’t want Bowes. Bowes, from what I’ve read, wants to play mid. He would not scratch our starting midfield. He is more effective than Tucker for example but Tucker is not on $600k+ with backended years of $850k apparently. Gold Coast are not trading Bowes and 7 for cap space and that’s it, they’d most likely want at least one second round pick (or even future first for a good team) back, we simply don’t have the picks to facilitate that and our other desired trades. It would be nice to have pick 7 but it’s that pick and Bowes takes up two more list spots which makes it really really tight as well from that aspect. Just not that realistic for us.
Would we prefer Sexton for one of their 2nds?

Is that quote about Bowes being a chance to go to Geelong real?

Absolute ******* insanity that it's even a possibility.
And bruhn?

clarko got the logue deal over the line apparently

and apparently will live with zac fisher in melb who he is good mates with

Such a great system. The Premier gets a player who may or may not make it, plus Pick 7, likely to be a future gun to replace some of their aging list in a year or two. I fully understand that the Cats situation in getting this player/pick is very different to ours, but they won 21 games this year and we won 2. We get a future 2nd and 3rd rounder to try to help us get off the bottom, but have to trade them this year or we lose them. How can we really compete against this system?
Gil needs to go asap and clubs who are at the other end of this need to vote as a block, won’t happen thou because the same clubs are stuck on the afl nipple for funding and survival.
Competition death spiral
