Tanner Bruhn from the giants is a worthy target

avoid people who don't smile, ie no outward enjoyment of the sport they play.

Dayne Beams was one, the other Pies one is Jamie Elliott.

George is that any chance we can merge this and the other Ben King thread and turn it into a trade discussion thread?
I take it we're over discussing Bing now?

Happy to do it if others are in agreeance

He's in a funny sort of spot right now. He's very good but there is a bit of a potential Billings feel about him at the moment. He's kind of an almost awesome type.
He's one who could be a great midfield but just hasn't been given that consistent chance in the middle yet. Looks like they also prefers Butters over him in that mid who then goes forward role.

Doubt he'd ever leave SA either
It would be unlikely and I couldn't see Port letting him go either. I'm just a big fan of him.

Hopper or Green from GWS would do then.

I think Smith is an absolute flog but he's going to be something pretty special. He had to sacrifice his game when Treloar arrived but his ceiling is so high I'd take the risk. I think he looks another superstar long term.
Just had a look at the contract status of green & hopper, both out of contract at the end of '23.

Hopper then becomes a free agent. 🤔

Both threads seemed to have morphed into discussing other prospects
Ok cool, I'll get around to it. I don't go in those threads so had no idea.

Honestly, the best outcome for us.
We either shoot up the ladder, and become more attractive to out of contract mids and FA's or we regress further and stock up on young mids over the next two years.
This.

Shouldn't be selling the future for the now anymore.

We need to take our picks to the draft and target FA's

Really have a good full hand of dp's for this and next year. If we were targetting Ben, we would have at least 700k large in the kick, no reason not to target some players who are actual needs.

What a relief that we don't have to look at Ben King threads all season.

Ok who knows exactly the dp's we have for 2022 and 2023?

He was a Saints fan growing up no? I’m sure the club would be interested, but unless Port puts him on the outer Jack Higgins style, I can’t see him going anywhere.
He was. Very unlikely he goes anywhere but of those out on contract from that 2018 draft, he's the one I hope we ask the question too.

Except until they introduce a new team in Tassie and then we again become a victim of compromised drafts sitting near the bottom of the ladder..
I'll take the first of your options please.

Hi Saints, was just reading the article about Tim Taranto on the AFL site. He's out of contract at the end of this year and it seems is in no hurry to sign his life away to the giants (says he's gonna wait till mid season to even think about it).

Got me thinking about the cash and picks we've stashed away for Ben King. I'd like to know what you all think.

Would you rather we sign Ben or Tim?
Tim!
