I’ve heard from a realisable source that Clark is being offloaded because of certain issues, the issue I have is from what I’ve heard those reasons should exclude us from going after Degoey. I still remain very unhappy about it all.

Let me just be clear nothing to do with any kind of harassment/assault or anything against women. Nothing like that.
He likes wearing togas? 🤔

Don’t think that is even close to right
S4 gave a few clues in regards to Clark not doing extras outside normal training like others in the group are

I believe list management realise they have got the build wrong and need a reset and Clark is the one most replaceable with a decent return

Hunter likes to get on the nose beers and party with all his surfer mates.

He's basically Stuv 2.0.*

*I have no inside info, I'm just piecing together the self perpetuating narrative that the board has created.

My best bet as to why he may be available is because if we were to land JDG and last years draftees continue to develop, he would be surplus to requirements.

I was Hayes biggest fan and round one he was huge but realistically he's an undersized battler that's full of heart. He's not a superstar and unlikely to be anything more than a cult figure in the Jason Blake mould. That's still more than handy but he's probably going to be in and out of the side.
Not by any stretch is he a superstar, you are correct, I was answering the post that said it was laughable Hayes could turn or win games when the fact was he turned the game in R1.
Will he do that every game? Of course not, he is a very good link up player with experience and great football intelligence, I just thought it was rude and dismissive to say it was 'laughable'.

“I think Meek is most likely to head to GWS where he’s going to jump from about $300,000 a year to about $600,000 a year and get a three or four year deal,” he said.

“GWS is the most likely, but Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Richmond, St Kilda and Geelong are all showing interest in Meek.

Pass.

I think they got rid of him because he didn't have the professionalism required and that has absolutely still been the case at North. I suspect something similar may be going on with Clark.

Honestly what I'm hoping is that he stays at the club but this serves as a wake up call to stop coasting.
Seriously I’m so sick of this narrative, rumours and rubbish imo. I wonder sometimes about the lack of understanding around contact sports including the afl.

Do we really need to question this kids lifestyle or commitment when the obvious reason for his last two years is so blatantly obvious. I know it’s an opinion game but enough is enough.

Reminds me of thommo asking Hutchison if he’d ever been belted like Travis Cloke was, ‘ serves as a wake up call to stop coasting ‘.

Do those links have anything to do with it?

Clearly injuries have affected him in the last two years, but every AFL player gets injuries. How you do your rehab and your work ethic in training is still something you can control.

I have zero inside information on this one, but if they're comparing him with other players around him and seeing that he's not doing enough, and they've brought that up with him multiple times and he hasn't improved, and they've given up hope that he improves - then the only answer is to trade him.

The other option is that maybe we've just decided that the list is shot and we need to get draft picks in ASAP and he's got some vague currency. Not many others on the list we could trade.

I just want to make something clear about what I heard seeing as my name is getting brought up and a few locals are wearing their togas this morning and still not ready for work.

Within the hours of his full time job. I don’t believe there to be an issue with Clark. Works hard whilst at the club, does his sessions etc.

The query to my understanding - is does he have the drive to achieve his potential.

The examples given to me were of 4-5 similar players in terms of caliber and what they have done to try and get to that next level. All the examples focused on what those players did away from the club.

Coffield hired a running coach and was genuinely looking like a footballer about to break out. Dominating match sims like Luke Hodge across half back. Looking like a leader etc.

King I believe also used this running coach. Spent more time in the gym outside of his required sessions. Got fitter. Effectively broke out to a degree. Kicked 50 goals.

Windhager I am told. Lived at the club on his days off and just did extra sessions. Just put the work in. His reward…

Well, he wasn’t expecting to see a football field for most if not all of the year. You know how it plays out.

Owens is apparently a physical freak and did a mountain of general work. Running weights etc.

Owens is important, as Clark was training with Steele. But Owens was the one who caught Steele’s attention. Just super impressed with his work ethic.

Now, maybe there is an element of - let’s hit the draft, Clark is probably the odd man out if we jag another top level genuine mid etc. good currency still etc.

Maybe, it’s to light a fire up his ass to not let the opportunity slip. To seize the moment that success is earned and not a given.

That is me assuming. But what I do know, because it was confirmed to me by someone who would know and unlike others - I’ve told those I trust talking to where my info comes from.

He is a legitimately gettable target - for the right offer.

I have heard sweet **** all about drugs. Women. Partying. Boy bands. Or any other nonsense.

Hayes is a mobile tall who takes a strong one grab contested mark. Has good foot skills. He is less athletic than Jason Blake but a more skilled footballer. If he can develop into a consistent output Membrey type we look a lot better structured going forward.

With DMac working back as the defensive winger and potentially Wood or NWM working forward we look pretty set for contested marking and coverage in defence.

We need to have more players who can win or at least break even a contest so that we can move the ball quicker more direct and cover up for our not elite kicking skills.

There could be any number of reasons but with the injuries he’s had over the last two years including a severe facial injury it’s just crazy to talk of coasting or other rumours. Why make crap up, why trash the kid, three bad injuries in two years is enough.

The links have everything to do with his form over the last two years and maybe imo some need a reminder.

I have posted it elsewhere ,Hunter does
not prepare himself away from the club like a professional player trying to reach his peak does .

Living down on the Peninsula it is not hard to see him out in a social situation with his mates .

He likes a drink and has a vap , never heard anything about drugs and have never heard anything about him being a dick head .

None of things are hangable offences but not the actions of someone with an intense desire to be the best player they can be .

Personally I don’t want him to leave as think he could be a superstar.

Jason Blake played 219 games over 13 years. If that’s in and out of the side, I’ll take it.

Hahahaha.... Clarks from Padua College right... having spent my last 4 years of high school education (1990's) at that institution I can tell you this describes almost all of the populous...

If he's not taking Drugs, then he's a rare beast in that part of the world! Hated that school, loved my friends!

Could the Saints use Hunter / Hill and 12 to chase pick 1 from North?

Reality is Hill is more of a salary dump and list reset than trading for a top pick.

Pick 1 might need all three.

Is Wardlaw / Sheezel / Cadman worth that?
