On the other hand how good would it be for the club to get him into the club and through the Danny Frawley centre.
They sent De Goey to rehab, but he said no no no,
I wear white and black,
No red on my back,
Saints let me De-Go go go.

Have you seen who the swans have delisted since 2016.

Tom Mitchell, Toby Nankervis, Jordan Dawson, Aliir Aliir, Darcy Cameron, Zak Jones, Dan Hannerbury, Gray Rohan, Nic Newman.

With this much talent leaving the club and still playing off in a grand final.

There is rumor we are losing Clark and Ling wants out and sh*t hits the fan.
This is why we don’t play in grand finals.

That's quite staggering the players that departed Sydney yet here they are contending with the best up and coming playing group in the league. While not every player listed was let go by choice it appears by to be shrewd list management since. I don't think any of those players are a must have. They have covered them all just fine. Incredible how they can develop so many players into above average talent.

If we get a pick 3 next year and he takes 5 years to get to where HC is now it's going to be a long wait.
Obviously the idea would be that the pick wouldn't take five years to get where Clark is now. Reality is Clark took three years to hit his peak but has since gone backwards. His output the last two years has been poor albeit injury effected.

They had a star recruiter in Kinnear Beatson, but that wasn't enough for them, they went and stole Simon Dalrymple who built the Dogs premiership list, Bont, Macrae etc. Then on top of that own the academy that covers a huge amount of territory and is exceptionally run so finds bulk high end talent.

If you want to build a great list, hire the best recruiting manager you can find and give him enough to stack the states with quality underlings. **** off footy department roles like Gubby Allen. He's got us Hill, Hanners, Howard, Ryder etc but none have been outstanding successes and we've given up a lot of draft capital that has left huge holes all through the under 23 group and a real quality gap compared to other sides. Not only have they not become stars they have cost access to a lot of stars and haven't been huge upgrades on what we already had.

I'd say he's still a project. He's never strung enough footy together to have been considered anywhere near his peak. To me HC could be anything from a GOP to a superstar. We really don't know yet, he's had great games but been used in a pretty low impact roles.

Guys like Bont and Selwood are the exception not the rule. Most take 4 to 5 years to really take off. Brayshaw was quick and he's just finished his 5th season. I'd take our first 2 picks to the draft and not trade out a guy ready to step up hoping to get more access to an okay but not exceptional draft.

This looks like a draft that players will go earlier and later than expected. I'd rather trade out some average older players for later picks and hope that someone like Harry Lemmey might be able to step up given a go at a higher level. Phillips asa ready made KPB.

Short memory about Hayes R1.

I was Hayes biggest fan and round one he was huge but realistically he's an undersized battler that's full of heart. He's not a superstar and unlikely to be anything more than a cult figure in the Jason Blake mould. That's still more than handy but he's probably going to be in and out of the side.

I'm sure when the Pies traded out Stephenson they would have said the same thing.

Anyway it's all conjecture right now let's wait and see what happens. I still think if we are willing to trade him that there must be some issues we don't know about.

Stephenson will probably get back to his early form with a new side around him. He's a guy who needs to be a cherry and have big time games. They really ****ed him sending to a rebuilding side. He needs to be fed like Hill. His career would have looked totally different if he was still there but they probably don't have Ginnivan if he'd stayed.

Clark looks more like he'd do a Jordan Dawson or something, where if he could get a prime role that he gets developed in to he should be at least a very good player and possibly a star even.

Those are some of the rosiest rose coloured glasses I've ever seen.

King yes
The others no, Hayes flat out laughable to even suggest it

Hayes nearly brought us back into the game against Collingwood with his 3rd quarter.

Higgins did it against GWS with a burst in the third as well.

Sinclair was the catalyst vs Richmond and also against Geelong.

Steele has done I a few times over the last couple of years

I think they got rid of him because he didn't have the professionalism required and that has absolutely still been the case at North. I suspect something similar may be going on with Clark.

Honestly what I'm hoping is that he stays at the club but this serves as a wake up call to stop coasting.

He was rooming with one or two pies in a hotel, i think during covid up in QLD. Rumour was they wanted him out of the their room or their was going to be an incident. Traded not long after that.

99% of kids that get drafted take at least 5 years to play their best footy consistently and I doubt Clark is close to his peak after 2 years of injury’s

Maybe Stephenson snores. Maybe lewdogs thinks Clark snores too ? So much speculation.

If he is up for trade then there has to be a reason for it. I'm not saying I even agree with it but I'm just trying to understand the situation, I know the first port of call for many is to say "this is nuts the club is ****ed" but there genuinely has to be a reason for trading him. The club wouldn't just turf away a pick seven for no good reason no matter how bad you think our list management is you can not possibly believe that.

I agree- great first game, but at best, workmanlike for the rest.

Degoey wasn’t doing anything with his contract until after the season. What makes you think he’d sign anything midway through mad Monday?
So why did Collingwood offer him the contract at the start of the season, pull the contract at the bye, present it again before seasons end, and then according to a journalist update the terms of it?
Obviously they're not as aware of JDGs plans as people on here.

I’ve heard from a realisable source that Clark is being offloaded because of certain issues, the issue I have is from what I’ve heard those reasons should exclude us from going after Degoey. I still remain very unhappy about it all.
Let me just be clear nothing to do with any kind of harassment/assault or anything against women. Nothing like that.
