Mate, we aren't getting anything close to the Cerra deal

That is living in a dream world.

I've explained it many times now.

We've told clubs he's available. Unless the people running the show are completely stupid we would have to no that no club is offering pick 6 for him.

So if we know that clubs won't value him that high, why would we be telling them he's available??

I'm sure we know exactly what clubs will be willing to pay for him and we will be happy to accept it, otherwise we wouldn't be dangling the carrot
Point is that the person who told me about this at least two weeks ago said that the club would look around but not sell Clark short.

Yes we have told clubs he may be available but at the right price. This is what you don't seem to understand. I don't believe we can get a Cerra deal either, he is valued around 15, but the info coming out of the club was if they didn't get overs for him, they would not consider trading.

I don't know why this is so difficult to understand.

Let's revisit this after trade period then

I doubt we hold him to his contract now after telling clubs he's available

As I said earlier, it's very different to Weller, Papley, Gibbs, Hill etc

We wouldn't be making a player available only to say no because we didn't get well overs for a guy we are giving a nudge to.

We'd know exactly what a fair deal is and willing to take it

Funny that you mention this,

A few years back, someone that I work with who is also St Kilda Supporter went on a footy trip, and said that he saw Hunter Clark racking up lines in the bathroom, he's not one to pull my leg, and was genuinely concerned about Clark from the state he was in, and has questioned the pick a lot ever since then.
Footballer likes noseys. Water is wet.

2 weeks ago, I had the best mail possible that he wasn’t on the move, and didn’t want to leave. A lot can happen in two weeks, but given he’s contracted and has to agree to it I’d be surprised if that stance has changed
If he believes the club are pushing him out that could change things considerably.

Seems bizarre that we’d want him gone for a pick that is not likely to get us someone better than him though.

Unless there are things we’re not aware of holding him back.

Why do you want to give away a talented player for nothing?

Have we learned nothing from MCEvoy, Dal Santo, Goddard, even Hickey? We get bugger all in return and lose a good player.

What is embarrassing is this embrace of mediocrity where we think a second rounder will improve the list while selling off a top ten dp who can't get on the field because of facial fractures and a broken shoulder.

I don't want him to go, but if he does it has to improve the list not some crackpot firesale of a CONTRACTRED player

This place FMD
I love how pointing out some ridiculous estimations of his value is considering 'embracing mediocrity' now. Yes, I am embracing mediocrity because I'm not living in the fantasy world you are about his value. The fact we have to keep going back to 'top 10 dp' is highlighting that he hasn't come on yet despite being 24 before next season starts and has very little on field things to improve his value right now.

If we can get a pick in the teens, we should take it. But comparing his value to Cerra is just ridiculous.

And while doing this the club has killed the relationship with the player and he most likely walks next year
IMO just another poorly handled stuff up by the club, I wouldn't believe anything this club says remember when they told us nothing wrong with our fitness last year

Yes will all come out in the wash. Gallafgher has many critics on here, lets see what he is made of. If he ****s this up he can pack his bags.

However I suppose we have to look at the end of TP in totality. If we shit the bed on Clark but make of like bandits in other trades and come out on top, I can wear that. If we stuff the Clark and Hill trades and look worse off because of it, well their will be blood. I will go at Gallagher like Daniel Plainview with a bowling pin.

It's been said plenty of times in the media

If it were untrue we'd have someone from the club come out and say by now

Yes we need someone from the club to make a statement in the next day or so. This will clarify the situation. OTOH it may lead to more speculation.

Whether Clark wants to leave or not its fair to say that this would be a HUGE WAKE UP CALL for him

He does seem to give out 90s grunge slacker vibes

Time to stop cruisin Hunter and pull yer finger out and realise your potential
Whaddya mean man ?

Ah well, hopefully we can draft the next Matthew Allison with the pick we get for Clark.

That will make up for it

Work rate is learnable. I'm loathe to trade players with abilities that seem to be innate (can't be taught) and also are not already existent in other players on the list.

Clark for a future second is dereliction of duty on behalf of our list managers if it does go ahead.
Yeah, where did this talk of Clark for a 2nd come from? If that happened then someone has quietly quit at the Saints.

I don't think it has been said at all in the media that St Kilda has made Clark available.

Is been said that 'industry sources' say he's 'gettable'. Daniel Cherney's 40 word article.
Sounds like semantics. He can only be gettable if available.

As King doesn't kick straight maybe we could get the 3rd round PP from North for him while we are at it.

Sam Edmund threw a dart and said Norfies gift 2nd round PP for being a shittruck of a club may be involved.

Naturally Norfie board blew their load extrapolating the above for they would get Clark for only Norfies gift 2nd round PP for being a shittruck of a club.

Special little Norfies are special.

Clark and the club both have come to agreement that trade is best for both going forward. Saints aren’t happy with Clark’s attitude during injury lay off and Clark also now happy to move on after receiving the negative feedback. Not sure that North are the only club Saints and Clarke are looking at a trade with but he wants to stay in Victoria.

What’s the go on Tarryn Thomas to GC? Is that growing any legs?

So where do you believe industry sources got that info from?

At the end of the day he's contracted so the only way he'd be gettable is if something has come from the club

And for some reason it had not, we would have shut it down by now like we did Ben Long a couple of years back

It's obvious we are happy for him to go
