I’m not expecting him to be all Australian godlike but my belief in what he can offer this team is more how he structurally changes us rather than expecting him to kick 6 every game and pluck marks out of the air single handed
He looks treacle slow and the simple Jack haircut doesn’t help but he’s actually a very handy footballer. Big mid complements Roma, he can play forward or back, reads the play well, is skilful and a really good kick. I think a mature big body like Hayes was another inspired bin chicken find.

The podcast with steel on Dyl and friends he mentioned Clark as the one to break out this year..
Firstly, I’d hope Steele said that - seeing as Clark was part of his training/mentor group.

I posted last summer that our 3 draftees - specifically Owens and Windhager, probably wouldn’t get a game. They were that far off physically etc.

Hope that helps with context as to how far Windhager and specifically Owens went and how that might fit the info I was told.

I come in peace,
I’m not going to comment on the value of the trade, apart from the fact the death riding a team is actually fun..
It adds a whole other dimension to watching rival team games, as you’ve actually got skin in it.
You guys would be cheering on every loss that North has, and if we have another season like we had the schadenfreude would be fantastic for you lot.

For that reason and that reason alone I hope we do a trade like that.
Entertainment value
Like the year we got Hawthorns future first and then had a crap year:)
The difference with that was that we gave up a draft pick for another draft, so both were unknown quantities. In the current scenario we are giving up a player who a known quantity for a draft pick, which is an unknown quantity.
I wouldn’t do it myself but I’m not the one doing the deals.

Edmund: Hunter Clark for future second compo "likely"

I'd love to see Gags reaction when the North list manager asked for Hunter Clark at the same price they demanded for Xerri last year.

Huge risk, absolutely, but my reasoning is:

  • Clark barely played this year and never hit form, he had next to zero impact to our W:L ratio.
  • If we hadn't shat the bed to epic proportions, we were a finalist lock by midseason.
  • If the review results in a new forwarding coach, a lot of our scoring issues can be fixed.
  • Odds on for a more favourable draw.
  • We should be anywhere from 7-10th next year.

NM are a rabble, even if Clarko gets cracking next year, they're in for a 3-5 year rebuild. They're best result in 2023 is surely bottom 3 with GWS, GCS, Haw, Ess all better placed currently. They might even finish dead last.

It is a gamble and might need that future 3rd included from their end but Clark isn't currently advancing our team. I'll back the list managers.

I'm pro shaking up this 9th/10th best middling list, so I'm bias in that respect.

Let’s just remember he looked pretty good before the injuries and was coming on nicely finishing top 10 in the b&f.

I wouldn‘t trade him, he has a lot of what we lack but if we do I hope it’s worth it.

XhazzafootyX- Hunter Clark for pick no1 “likely”

What a silly thing to say by Sammy Edmund

How’s the first round compo going.
To be clear.

They were pulling their ***** because an ITK over there had them believing in a top 5 compo pick + 2 more compo picks - which they started believing to be 11 and 19.

Could the Saints use Hunter / Hill and 12 to chase pick 1 from North?

Reality is Hill is more of a salary dump and list reset than trading for a top pick.

Pick 1 might need all three.

Is Wardlaw / Sheezel / Cadman worth that?
Why would you bust your balls to get pick 1 when the best player in the draft is unavailable?

Let’s just remember he looked pretty good before the injuries and was coming on nicely finishing top 10 in the b&f.

Mate at the end of the day. I have no ****ing clue or say about whether or not they make a trade.

I’m just being genuine about what I heard.

I’m sure they know what value Clark is. So if he does get traded. Let’s see what it looks like.

I wonder if Tarryn Thomas us at all gettable in this merry-go-round…

Might just need a change of scenery.

Windhager, Owens and Thomas rotating through the middle and forward is a handy mix of skillsets and sizes.
