In commercial law you always add in a few outrageous clauses to get struck out hoping that you'll get them distracted enough to miss your prime objective and have it stand. Probably one of those but Jordy's fireman brother in law went troppo about it instead of asking to have it struck out and they stormed out of the meeting.
He must have done the same negotiation course that I did.

So so far the clubs who the media has potentially attracting the big deals in the trade periods are…

Geelong - Premiers
Brisbane - 6th
Richmond - 7th
Collingwood - 4th
Melbourne - 2nd
Dogs - 8th

Good to see “equalisation” doing it’s thang again…

Freo getting hold of Jackson but inexplicably leaving the tap on out the back is an interesting one. I'm not sure if they're stepping back to go forward or just getting it wrong.

What are the chances that we pull out the race for Bowes because we need the money to chase Degoey, and then he decides to stay at Collingwood
Exactly why we need to up his offer a tiny bit then put a timeline on it. Say next Wednesday 3.30 pm or it’s off the table

Then he’ll realise he can’t play pies off against us and will be forced to make a decision or get left with the pies offer of less coin (after we up ours) but no bargaining to remove the evil clauses

What’s this “rejection” he speaks of??
Think he's trying to catch us out by speaking Latin, he's doing a good job I have no idea what that means either

The difference is Geelong select a lot of kids from the area, plus some mature players from the area (Stewart, Atkins etc) plus get numerous talented Geelong raised players requesting a trade to the Cats once they have completed their minimum duty at their original club plus blokes from other Victorian regions who prefer the surf/rural lifestyle plus some blokes from places like SA (cos that's just like a big sleepy town) plus Irishmen (because they can live in a laid back region with lots of pubs & paddocks)

You may get the odd Bayside player wanting to come to our club but there really is no comparison. We are simply another Melbourne club and it's not lifestyle factors that are going to influence any recruits.

So the motto of the story is: move Geelong to Werribee

I remember there was a fire at the club rooms around the time of the decision making, there was also parking and space issues.

I wouldn't be too hard on the club for the decision, it was 10 years ago now. I'm more worried about what is happening now not way back then.

Whats more concerning the club is in the midst of a major football review, right before one of our most important trade periods. The club said it was already in the middle of the review when it announced it... still no word from the club, coaches already departing... Very Concerning!!!
The clubrooms/grandstand burnt down, and in the investigations for the rebuild they found soil issues or something that made it really expensive, or a really long time frame to rebuild as I recall......

If Richmond end up delisting Sydney Stack I wouldn't be against taking a punt on him

Now for the important stuff

Sanga update please
Really busy painting today so just had a toasted ham and cheese. Mulberry tree is loaded so picked a large bowl of mulberries to add some roughage.
MOre on that later.

Haha, I haven't had a tanty over anything

All I've said us that's clearly a missed opportunity for a club desperate to land more draft picks

Some people here just can't handle anything being posted that may see the club seen in a negative way
If thats the case then EmRat hooking up with Brad Pitt should be considered a missed opportunity ..... for all of us :thumbsu:

Bowes isn’t doing himself any favours by not wanting to speak to other clubs. Geelong takes Bowes, pick 7, and his salary and delists him after two years.
Bring in other clubs and his offer goes to 4,5 years???
Possibly average player Set for life.

Anyone but the Cats as far as I’m concerned.
Premiers getting two top ten picks basically, is just plain wrong!

I think if everyone is being perfectly honest no one really gives sh#t about Bowes. It’s pick 7.

I wouldn't mind Bowes as well I think he'll be a more than handy steak knives. If you got him for a second round pick and a modest wage you would be happy to have him.

On the Bowes thread they mentioned that the Suns want a late first back. So you'd think we'd have to split 9 in order to get him. It would have been awkward.

Quinton Narkle delisted by Cats

St Kilda isn't any better. Ice makes people nuts.
The tram up chapel street from around Carlisle street is the worst trip possible. A few places that provide assistance have created a honey pot effect. Absolutely crazy you never know what’s going to happen but walk less than 2 klm‘s and your in another world and never see that.

Back to the football I don’t think we’ll land DeGoey and I don’t really care. I’m happy enough if we can improve the list and hit the draft with another pick under 30, anything else is a bonus. Lachie hunter, ely smith, stocker, brander and probably many more who might improve our list. It’s unrealistic to think we’re going to land a big name free agent every year or have 2 first rounders. Still sounds crazy to me trying to trade Clarke so we can spin the wheel again, anyway that’s not happening if they have any sense especially given what’s been offered.
