Care to provide evidence of this? My reccollection was at end of year they believed fitness had been an issue and was something to be addressed in the off season.

they literally had a members Q&A and hand picked a question from a member "is fitness an issue"

Rath, Ratten and Lethlean sat there, whilst Rath gave an in depth answer to assure fans fitness was not an issue. he even went onto say he has data to prove that fitness wasn't an issue.

this was mid season.

at the end of the season, Ratten declared fitness was an issue and they were getting a new guy.

and this is the problem a lot of supporters have with the club right now. it's a ****in pendulum in the assessment of the club. one moment everything is amazing. the next its bad, completely unacceptable and we need a review. these comms are literally half seasons apart. flip flopping.

What Max 2nd last game of the year was it 0. 6 ?
Same coaching group that went 3 and 8 after the bye
Let’s hope they aren’t using Clark as the excuse and sacrificial lamb to hide their mistakes
Walsh, we lack top end talent, reconciling that statement with trading Clark for a pick in the draft would require some serious mental gymnastics imo. Just watch if he does get traded it will be for a lousy pick like 12 or 15 and the line will be after the top 5 we think the top 20 is very even blah, blah.

Here's an idea for people to shoot down and ridicule, knock yourselves out.

If your pick is miles away from where your academy player is going to be taken, bad luck - you miss out.
If you're a few picks away, it can be hard to swap picks with that team, because they might not want to drop down to your pick's level.

So how about, when they call your academy player's name within 1-3 picks, you get a chance to convince them not to take that player, instead they take the next player on their list - so there's not much of a drop off.

So you don't have to offer them the world, just enough to take the next player. If they really want the player, they would just say no and take him, especially if there's daylight to the next best.

It would probably take a lot of time, and could be totally impractical....just trying to think about what's fair for the academy player's team, and for the other teams who don't want to be impacted by academy selections.

Anyway, the Jamara system is obviously unfair, but if you just miss out when you've invested a fair bit, it's a bit of a shame too.
Maybe it doesn't matter, and so long as all clubs are investing in these areas.

BJ said on trade radio that we made an offer last week of a future 3rd round for Weideman and were knocked back by Melbourne and or Weideman.

If true you have to wonder why he had chosen Essendon?

So the people literally setting the bad example as Mowman put it were purposely moved on and replaced. Clark cant really use that as an excuse then now, if he even has as so far there has been absolutely no concrete evidence of his attitude or even desire to move.

So that's twice that Clark got told in his post season review that he needs to lift his game and become a professional athlete?

I can understand getting told once, but for a professional athlete copping it 2 off seasons in a row is imo not good enough.

His mate in Coffield responded by putting in the hard yards after the first discussion, Clark obviously has different ideas.

Get rid of him if that's the attitude/example he is setting. He isn't 19 years old anymore and at 24 year's of age should be a top 5 player at this club!
What’s the source for all this talk, I love the certainty with which it’s delivered. More likely to have come from the coffee shop than anyone actually in the room but whatever.

So we have to spend our only frdp on an academy player while the likes of a PF in Brisbane get the no .1 pick, and the likes of finals playing Bulldogs gots the no.1 pick both for junk picks to make up points.

It really is one of the simplest ways to assist clubs outside the 8.

Allow them access to their NGA players (whether that be via pre-listing outside the draft or using the points bidding system).

Make the finals- bad luck or yes, but outside pick 40 as the rules are now.

No team will tank a game to miss finals just to pick up a NGA player.

For a club like us, getting McKenzie in & still having our top pick to use would be massive in competing against free agency and the OOC players choosing top 4 clubs.

A no brainer that will undoubtedly come in after this season.

Wasn't it reported that Weideman wanted to come to St Kilda but St Kilda were not interested?

Clarks old man was the source for 2021 exit review.

Club source for 2022 👍
