He wouldnt be the worst selection, we definitely need players who can kick goals.

I still think at some stage, we are going to need to find another tall key forward/ruckman.

We see rucks fly around every year it seems. For what he cost, Grundy would have been pretty awesome but I'm also happy to go in with RoMa + Hayes next year.

Maxy Heath doing well enough in reserve and Tommy Campbell is playing on yeah?

Agree that we need another Hayes type forward who can pinch hit.

Agreed, can have the occasional good game, but never truly “cracked it”. Probably due to the combination of his work ethic and physical limitations.
I struggle to see where he fits with us, we don’t need a slow, one-dimensional mid, we already have Bytel.

Connor played juniors at a club in the South West near me and was in carnivals with my bro so I know him well. Reckon he fits the common bill of too good for VFL/WAFL, not quite good enough for AFL.

I’m worried about Marshall’s ability to play out the whole year as no 1 ruck without injury.

How do people know he's never had a dip ?

My main gripe with McKenna is that I don't think he'll last the distance, and I reckon we should be targeting players that have the potential to see out a contract and do the right thing by our club, rather than the right thing for a GAA club thousands of miles away. That call will always be there, and he's already done it once. Others see no issue with it, which is fine...it's just that I do...which is also fine.
What about Zak Jones to the HBF? Has pace, a bit of aggro, likes to take the game on (depending on his head space) and his kicking isn't as shocking as has been made out and he's more or less the same age as McKenna.

It also has to be realized Coffield will be back and McKenzie could also be putting his hand up.
Jones mostly played as a halfback for the Swans and with the emergence of Owens , Windhager it may well force Ross , Clark to spend more time time back even if Sinclair is thrown into the midfield and you still have Highmore and Connolly playing at Sandringham.

Thank you Premo. It looks like we may be dodging a bullet there anyway. I reckon McKenna wants to go to a club ready to challenge. He seems to want either the Kennelly deal where gets a premiership in both Ireland and Australia, or he gets to go to a big club. I'm not sure we would be of much value to him on either front.

Wilkie - Cordy - Paton/Webster
Battle - Howard - Sinclair/Coffield/McKenna

I think only one of Paton and Webster play. Sinclair, Coffield, Hill and McKenna (if he signs) will all rotate hb/wing/on ball.

Cordy takes the deep tall forward. Howard plays up the ground to hoof the ball into attack. Wilkie gets to play on blokes more his size and Battle stays as the interceptor.
