re getting Kangas own and GC second round pick.

2 of the likely bottom 4 teams this year according to Sportsbet. More smart future draft manoeuvring of which we have proved time and time again we are leagues best (or very close to). Valuable for either trades, lump them together for around pick 14 ish or use outright

Hopefully GC finish lower of the 2 since NM finishing position is attached to 2 picks pushing any behind them back by 1 extra

Also im pretty sure the GC trade was one that looked slightly in our favour if you considered our finishing positions similar to eachother so a GC drop and our rise I think we will look at that as a good deal

Adelaide gets 43, Suns’ future Round 2 and Cats’ future Round 3 - Gold Coast gets 79, Crows’ future Round 2 and Magpies’ future Round 3

(Note we traded cats future 3 for 50 in last yrs draft with Bris)

So for us was:

Adelaide gets: 43, 50, Suns’ future Round 2
Gold Coast gets: 79, Crows’ future Round 2 and Magpies’ future Round 3

Amazing deal if current ladder positions hold close as we upgraded in every pick involved.

That trade was 100% made by GC assuming the Rd2 pick swap was going to be an upgrade for them

So as it stands...

In - F26, pick 43 (Dowling), pick 50 (Bond)
Out - F30, F54, pick 79 (not used)

Even worse that they didn’t use one of the picks!

This will be an overlooked example of GC trading/list management incompetence (when you add it to the Bowes trade it’s not exactly a great way to build a contender)

Been "big" on this lad for over 12 months since he first debuted in 2022 and just keeps getting better and better..

Is Freijah playing mid or KPF?

Bangers has him listed as a Mid on his draft profiles but slotting 7 for the year (6 in a game) would seem he has moved to the front half? Added a couple of CM's too by the look.

Why? Surely it indicates whether you’ve got some speed or a slowish? And it would be better to have a better time than not?

Being first to move in the right direction is more important. Lining up and waiting for a starter pistol and then running 20m has next to no practical application.

Was smart trading, and particularly so getting North's 2nd (and pick 59) by trading away our pick 23. If we'd kept pick 23 it would have been swallowed up by the Michalanney bid. By getting rid of it we were able to take Michalanney with three late picks (46, 56, 59), one of which we got in the trade anyway. So we essentially moved the value of pick 23 into 2023, while still getting Michalanney for essentially nothing (picks 46 and 56 which came from the steak knives in the Rankine trade).

He's played almost all wing at the Rebels with a few squits on the ball....Wing or running back is where I see him personally.
I see he was the highest ranked country player in His trial game. Starting to play a fair bit of midfield I believe.

Hi all! New to this forum, but Crows member since 1991. Season ticket holder, watch all the games etc etc
My observation is this current squad has been patiently built and hopefully will be a contender for 5+ years … with a couple flags minimum to celebrate.
My question to draft watchers … is this year‘s off season our Conner Rozee year! Is it time to package up picks and potentially a player to move up and get an elite mid. Or can we stay the course … let’s say pick 12 … and get a talent that fits our needs.
Is it time to get aggressive! Love the way we are travelling, do we need to put the chips in the middle of the table and go for it!!!!

No team is trading down to miss out on Harley Reid and he's the indisputable elite projecting talent in this crop....think Dustin Martin...
Wasnt what I asked! Reid will most likely go number one .. out of reach, fogert about him. Who in the 4 - 8 range is worth trading our first, a second and a player equivalent to a Wingard? Or does the draft even out and we can get the talent we need at 10- 14? Provided that’s where we pick

Potentially Moir.

we should be all in this year..

our first this year, our first next year and we have the suns 2nd this year and norths 2nd this year… ALL of them should be on the table and up for trade to get us as high up the draft as we can this year or to get us a player(s) in from other clubs.

Would like us to go all in on getting what we need this draft/trade period. The more games the squad plays together the better and May as well bring those key pieces in asap

That kind of collateral would more sensibly be spent on a proven top line player at this point unless it's Harley Reid IMO.
Fair enough. So I take from that that’s no top 6 talent you would go all in on, other than Reid, in this draft.

Get back to me after the Nationals when the prospective draftees get tested against the best from all states.

The closest to Harley Reid on pure talent is Nick Watson and he's barely 170cm so wouldn't be popular on this board.
So you’re not convinced with Moir. Or just need to see more?

You know what - I think WCE would potentially trade down.

Surely they'd consider a package of three firsts?

Would we put together all our picks in 2023 and our 2024 first?

If they have pick 1 this year, they should - they need to rebuild nearly an entire list a.s.a.p.

It wouldn't be us though - it'll will be a club with 2 decent 2023 r1 picks already - GWS, North, WB.

We could maybe get involved by trading our 2024 r1 pick and one of the North/GC r2 picks for a mid/late r1 pick from a high finishing club, and then that and our 2023 r1 pick for a top-5 pick if WC got one and Moir was still on the board (assuming we're keen on Moir).

WC could potentially have 4 r1 picks this year in this scenario.
