Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

We still got picks 46(331 pts), 52(246), 53(233) and 73(9)
331 + 246 + 233 + 9 = 819 pts

We have enough points to burn, 819points is around pick 23 (815pts) and I haven't even included the discount.

Looks like Calsher is more of a formality now.
We could look to upgrade 46 by trading out the Pies F2. Sneak in early and grab Tew before anyone snaps him up. Alternatively look to grab someone else who presents good value. Archer Reid still on the board after being considered a potential top 10 pick earlier in the year.

52, 53, 73 alone gives us 488 points which after 20% discount enables us to match any bid for Dear that comes from pick 31 on.

I thought At the Drive In were doing a gig when l saw the McCabe brothers.

It also looked like Norf replaced Slideshow Ben with a close relative in their recruiting team.

I think that the 20% discount only applies to First Round father-son bids. After that I think that it's a fixed 197 point discount.

There's still some talent left before our next pick. Fingers crossed 2J or Lorenz are available at our pick.

Archer Reid
Oli Murphy
Mitchell Edwards
George Stevens
Arie Schoenmakers
Archie Roberts
Logan Morris
Jack Delean
ZZ Top
Nathan Philactides
2J
Will Lorenz

Would be pretty handy if Arie or Morris were available... I wonder who WCE will take with that 1st pick tomorrow..

I'm predicting we just take McCabe from here and sign Phillips as an SPP selection.

However:

Pies F2 and 46 to grab ZZ Top

Then 52 and 53 to match any Dear bid
Problem is I doubt anyone is trading their 30's pick for that. Teams like Lions, Togers & Port are yet to get a pick.

So maybe we can offload 46 for a F2 or F3 from one of them instead, if 2J comes past 40, we pick him else leave the spot for SSP + Dear( have enough points for both).

He said Dildoro was a genius for giving up a 2nd round pick to move up 1 spot and grab Caddy. Just wow.

I laughed at that aswell!
Remind me how long it is since the scum have won a final?
Genius!!!
Mick Ablett choking the chook there!

Feel like we can't even target anyone in 30's.

If we pick someone via trades, what if TewJ slides past 40. We can't match bid as we have to pick Dear.

We have only 4 senior list spots. 4rth spot will have to be left vacant for Tew or a trade pick or pick at 46.

Ideally i would like to approach the next 5 teams with picks ( Eagles, Lions, Cats, Saints, Tigers) with trades involving our pick 46 + F2(pies). If that isn't enough Even a mix of swap of F1's and F2's. This is only if we rate one of the sliders reallly highly.

If we pick via trade, we have to ignore Tew even if he slides past 40. Can't pick as rookie as well due to lack of spots.

Can't have everybody :(

Pretty sure they're on for at least another 3 each in 2024 and 2025 at this stage.

It's only getting worse
There’s a reason Dimma had his sight set on that gig a long way out. They will be absolutely stacked.
