Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Watson = evasion +

Looked like he was playing hoops not AFL the way he left guys swatting at air.

Harley Reid if he's available to us seems a lock. Without keeping tabs on other players yet, I'm just gobsmacked by Watson's movement around blokes in those handful of highlght reels.

Has to be in the mix. Although WCE will probably be last at the time.

The thing to remember here is MSD for us now are not about top ups but about players being able to fill a roll long term. Are they going to be part of our premiership tilt

Spot on! In last years MSD, I couldn’t believe Ramsden slid to us at 6 as I saw him as the clear number 1 pick with the most upside. We don’t need stop gaps ( especially KP players) in the MSD. Having said have I have total trust in MM and the crew, absolutely killing it with the players drafted in last 2-3 years

I see the MSD becoming an increasingly important cog in the wheel of list management, and not the opposing view that it will become less and less likely to be used in securing talent (with Covid years etc.). Clubs that sleep on it will regret it long term. Drafting 18-19 year olds is a tricky business and seeing how players respond to ‘rejection’, and how they develop and play in the open age comps is valuable information. Getting an inside look at some players through Box Hill is a valuable asset too.

Looking to later rounds of the draft, Riley Weatherill from the eastern ranges has put together a very respectable season this far. 11 goals for the season this far, he's pretty stock standard as a forward target but you can't deny his production. No matter what happens this season, having another tall forward through the VFL system could give us some depth and talent to push into the side. Sam Can Rooyen is another who should be around our 2nd or 3rd pick, only 193cm right now but very strong in a marking contest and a natural forward when lining up for goal.

I know everyone loves Watson as well, but if we get a second top 15 pick or slip below pick 1 (and potentially below Watson level) I really like the look of Darcy Wilson. I went back and watched his games after being impressed by his game vs Port, the kid is class personified. His agility and composure while constantly buzzing around the contest and unleashing raw damage off his boot is reminiscent of Rozee, and as a midfielder he oozes impact around the footy. I'd keep a close eye on him throughout the year.

I recall some of our supporters being salty we didn’t pick up a mature age ruck to see us through the season. Boy I’m glad we didn’t…

With Pick 1, Hawthorn select Harley Reid from the Bendigo Pioneers.

Sammy Mitch also in attendance

My favourite part of video was Sammy's smile as wide as the Chestershire Cat. No wonder why Barrett has a bee in his bonnet 😂
