Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

A big one from the Eastern Ranges game. He'll be well out of our NGA zone after this. Christian Moreas has 43 disposal, 1 goal, 6 marks, 2 tackles, 12 inside 50s. Bottom ager, he's got the jets and the footy fundamentals to be a killer midfielder. He isn't a point of difference, but based on his underage season he's a very good shout to go early.

Huge Game Zane this time. The most impressive marking performance of the season from any draftee. In blustery conditions he clunked them all over the place, including a massive speccie in the goal square. His understanding of timing and space on the lead was levels above everyone else.

Unfortunately his kicking let him down at times.

If it was between Duursma and Curtin, I'd be leaning Zane right now. Curtin is incredibly productive, but he's a reactive player. He's an incredible reactive player, his reading of the play and judgement of the ball in flight is outstanding, but Duursma's inniative and creativity as a forward is otherworldly. He blasts away a bit (although it seemed very windy out there) but his work as both a marking target and a ground threat are head and shoulders above any forward not name Harley or Nick. He has traits that you can't teach and deficiencies that you can, it will be very hard to look past him with our pick, he's a genuine match winner.

I’d be just as happy with Duursma as Watson. I actually think he might suit our needs more. We’re going to get a star at our pick, very exciting.

Good thing with Duursma is we are pretty much guaranteed of getting him regardless of what happens with the charity stuff being dolled out to North. Still prefer the Wiz though if I could choose

Dam he is good. He looks so smooth even when he shanks it out in the full.

Colby, zane and curtin (who i think will end up at west coast) my top 3.

There is a lot of Shaun Burgoyne in Duursma's gait!

Twomey made that comp and they definitely run similarly. Both very balanced.

Duursma also looks the goods overhead. Like TDS7 I would be taking all of duursma, Colby and Watson before Curtin based on the limited footage I have seen.

4 of the top 10 being unavailable to draft to all clubs is a joke, the most compromised draft since the giants entered the comp.

Makes it all the more important to grab that suns pick
There’s been a lot in recent years. At least this the top ranked talent isn’t unavailable. Arguably has been the last three years though clubs didn’t bid on Daicos and Ashcroft at 1.

His marking and movement was sublime in that game but he let himself down with some poor kicking. Definitely in the frame with our 1st pick, we need X factor in the front half and he has that in spades. Imagine the boost to our forward line if we drafted both the Wiz and Zane and traded in Flying Ryan!!!
His poor kicking is fixable, he pulls his body to the left and sort of sweeps under it. This is usually only when he has some time and tries to roost it, when he's just chipping it short or playing on the run he's much more accurate and keeps his body aligned. It just comes down to building core strength, he has great natural balance but is still lightly built and so can get away with some awkward kicking more than most. I remember Connor MacDonald being similar his draft year, he still blazes away a bit but that's usually not due to a dodgy ball drop. The upside of his freakish balance is he is a wizard on the boundary and around goals and coupled with his aerial prowess he can take some freakish marks.

This is impressive.
We need this type of player in our team.

Strong mark, excellent movement and athleticism, beautifully balanced player who hurts the opposition.
He's got it all for a half forward and could become a taller version of Toby Greene.
Not so much 1:1 in style, but definitely in the role he could play for us.

Agree.
He looks like he could do just as much damage and is also a good size.
Watson looks more physically mature, but Duursma has a bit of improvement in his physical development.

I still want Curtin at 3, but man if we can trade up and get Duursma it would be worth it.
