Since when is being the best player meant your captain?

If Jy is 3rd/4th midfielder that won’t affect him being the best captain and setting standards for the group (#1 for time multiple time trials as an example).

I decided it would be Simpkin a long time ago but now I've changed my mind and think LDU would be an inspired choice.

I wonder if there's been any, maybe two dynasties in this century whose captains have been 3rd or 4th string midfielders.

Simpkin will be captain. Why? Watching live his first game for us down at Adren Street he played with the confidence of 200 gamer and played the whole time like he knew he was that good. Danced around Luke Hodge in one off the most beautiful plays I've seen. Guy seems to love being in front of the media and locked in shinboner. It's his team now.

I had originally voted for Jack to keep it for 2023 as we continue our transition and give it to someone new in 2024 after a year of Clarko and hopefully more success.

Jy is the most obvious choice noting Todd Viney recent comments.

LMac makes me nervous as Captain. I am genuinely unsure if he’ll be best 22 this year with the positional competition, and I think with a young playing group you need your Captain out there.

I really can't see Luke Mac getting displaced any time soon. Sure, there are some exciting prospects but pushing out that much experience in favour of potential is unlikely.

The funny thing is that if this person is arguing Jy is the politically correct or "woke" choice, I could easily mount a stronger case for Luke being more "woke" than Jy.

Hes suggesting that he’d only get the captaincy because he’s indigenous. That’s flat out wrong and racist.
