Why the heck do we have the 4th hardest draw as per latest afl article

Melbourne, Collingwood and Brisbane all have easier draws than us .. like wtf

Two theories:

We keep bugging them about wearing the Bars

We asked for it so that we could justify sacking Kern.

Which is the more outlandishly unrealistic suggestion of the two?

;)

We won 10 games for the year and finished 11th. We were trash and the draw was always going to look hard. Remove the first 5 rounds where Hinkley didn't coach, we went 10-7. Hardly world beaters.

For 2023.. why do we have the 4th hardest draw after being so shithouse in 2022

Esp comparatively to clubs who finished higher than us in 22 and have easier draws in 23.

I agree. Luck of the draw? (sorry)
All good mate! Maybe it’s payback for nabbing/prising hornet outta Melbourne 🤣

Be nice to receive a more equitable/moderate draw for a change.. I reckon it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those given the recent prelim appearances etc

I wouldn't worry about it, did you really want a soft draw in our circumstances?
Lol any other year and there might be a little interest, but this year its like yeah whatever guy sack hinkley

Equitable not soft.

Still, im really looking forward to seeing our young lads take on Richmond Geelong Collingwood and WB twice in 23.. LFG boys fire up!!

They will lose to WC and GC twice
can’t see WC beating them but GC will be plucky again

GWS are bound to slide further

Then there are 2 showdowns which are 50/50 as well. Dream draw for them really

Politics aside.. I’ll be more invested in ‘23 given the off season additions. Imagine the saltiness if Ken succeeds in ‘23 🤣

What’s his pass mark? Top 8/6?

I think we can forget any concept of 'pass mark'. Last season's was widely considered to be a GF, yet we finished 11th and he's still here ...

“What the club should be” has nothing to do with fixture

4th most difficult draw is inequitable

Suppose you just shrugged your shoulders when the Amon comp dropped too?

Sure did. Until we know the mythical formula for compensation its pointless to whinge about.

As for the difficulty of the draw. Where we are as a club and team we should be balls deep in a flag pursuit (lord knows the leadership have had enough time) and as such we should be looking forward to playing the best teams in order to hone ourselves for the finals. Bashing up Adelaide, Essendon, or West Coast tier teams multiple times a season is pointless.

Anyway, gauging difficulty now is pure guess work. Whos to say Geelong don't stay hungry, injuries wreck Richmond, or a drug scandal derails Brisbane.

The goal posts keep moving - how can we trust anything the club says?
