As it stands (including pick 4), GCS has enough points from existing picks to likely cover the bids. They'll gain more points from the Hollands, Sharp and Chol trades.

They're pretty fine for points.

Now, strategically they SHOULD still trade 4 as it's too big an asset to use just on points. But equally, they don't just need points from trading it - they need future assets as well.

Ok, I did a bid scenario for them to match bids at 2, 5, 15 and they just make it through with their existing 9 picks (means needing 9 free list spots)

If other clubs get nasty and bid on Walter at #1, GC would need more - not like they're not going to match.

From the little I watched he still looks weak in contested situations. Doesn't look to like contact.

Not today mate and I've been a critic, Elijah has been epic, tough on the inside with some really hard tackles. I'd want him if he repeats this kind of form going forward.

I only watched the second quarter and looked to not go in hard a couple of times. Maybe harsh and didn't watch much more.

from what i'm hearing GC are also looking to take their 4th ranked academy prospect Will Graham and he might get bid on in top 25

Nick Williams may also be someone they want to take also but might be able to get him as a rookie

both v good allies performers

more academy players the better for GC re retention

I thought Burgess was the the most impressive out of the 3 and the one I would be targeting. Can play at both ends and chop out in the ruck. Plays taller than he is. Decent hands and kick for goal.

Chol strikes me as someone who thinks he is better than he actually is, lazy and lacks a second effort. Not sure Nicks and co. would accept his defensive shortcomings.

Not convinced with Hollands, having said that if he comes cheaply, may be worth a punt.

if we get beaten to pick 4 by the bulldogs we should be trading our next years first and a couple of seconds to them for 10 and 17/18..

9, 10 and 17/18 would be pretty good.

That sounds like a horrible trade of picks. We want to be able to get Draper next year. He will go before Welsh.

Our first next year could easily be top 6. If we have to offload it then we would get better value for it next year.
