Thanks for the summary.

I can't see us having more than three picks in the main draft so if my maths is correct my guess is we will bring in Burgess and one other and take three picks to the draft.

I am sure we will try to move up but we may try to get 2024 pick for McAdam and still have three picks in the first two rounds.

I agree that it's unlikely we'll make more than 3 selections - and it could be only 1 or 2. Note that Murray's upgrade counts towards the minimum 3 selections, as would Parnell's if we're forced to go down that path.

The news about Oliver's availability has really thrown the cat among the pigeons, and will no doubt have the club scrambling to re-arrange their plans. A lot will depend on whether or not we can land him as a truly "big fish". We probably won't have a lot of draft capital left (at least no picks worth using), if that deal goes ahead.

It confirms that the Veterans List is a non-starter, having not been included in the CBA. However, it only says that clubs are "anticipating" MSD recruits being given 3.5 years on the rookie list - it hasn't been formally announced yet.

If you’re including stuff like the GC priority pick, then McAdams 3 week suspension for winding player but it “looked bad” has to be here. could easily argue it started a spiral this year resulting in him leaving.

they always pick someone who is part of the problem so they cant expose the sham it is when they arrive and open the drawers and see the corruption

Another move that could be straightforward is Melbourne’s James Jordon switching to Sydney. Jordon was eligible for free agency because he was technically delisted then relisted as a rookie two years ago.

Even if we did it with Sholl, McHenry or Hamill, I don't think many would care if they got poached. Would save us having to haggle with clubs on the trade table - just take the third round pick and move on.

There's no compensation for DFAs.

... but you're right, we wouldn't care if Sholl or Hamill were poached, which is why they are ideal candidates.

We have 9, 20 and F1 to use as well as 24, Doedee, McAdam and Himmo compo.if we want. We can certainly compete, the question is whether pick 4 is worth the price. Personally I think we will either get Oliver or pick 4. The need for a star mid is very strong.
