hollands is definitely is on that we focus on now Day is a potential brownlow medallist at hawthorn
that potential brownlow medalist’s team just got flogged by 82 points by an out of form team!..

We should be getting Rankine to get into Hollands ear..

Benefit of the way we are playing offensively now is it will probably only aid in why players may be interested in coming over. Of course the dollars are going to be the most important factor but doesn't hurt to be a side that attacks more where you can see the players having fun in the process.

Pretty easy to free up spots on our rookie list for next season - promote Murray, delist McPherson, and retire Seedsman are three things that should happen even without a push, just for starters.

Tex, Sloane, Seed, Hamill and McPherson are 5 that we can retire/delist and have zero negative impact on our next flag tilt.

I think it was Mark Stevens on RSN last week was talking like it's a forgone conclusion Pickett returns to SA.

He also mentioned Melbourne has got former Demon, Byron in to try and convince him to stay.
It most say if he leaves for SA then it’s port. I just don’t think it can be that straight forward unless he’s not a target for us

If Rachele were to want to go back to Victoria, does Pickett become a priority?
?

Is there any indication Rachele wants back to Victoria given he extended until 2025 with little fuss?

Pickett is the one out of contract at season's end that hasn't as yet re-signed?

Isnt Rach from shepparton?..

Not much pull towards being in melbourne for the lad..

Think we’ll just need to pay him a big salary and he’ll stay..

Plus.. SA chicks are far better looking than melbourne ones.. and less stuck up..

I’ve heard he’s met a far few SA chicks already.. but im sure he wont run out of meeting new ones for a while!

Contract expiry date is irrelevant.

Players go home whenever it suits them.

Isn’t Fog the natural replacement for Tax as our key leading forward? TT as tall clunker and then various options for 3rd tall like Gollant or Mc Adam. HH as a swingman ideally also
Not sure what games you have been watching but Morris is not all that athletic, and he’s testing results back that up.

Yes but there’s no suggestion of that, let alone this year ti force that decision

But you’re right, it is Rachelle vacating his spot in the 22 that makes Picket a genuine option- vacating the “small forward” position to the “mid-fwd” or even “mid” position

Weatherall is the only key forward of the lot, the others you mention are only 192cm at best. Have you seen how Will Day from Hawthorn runs around? 191cm midfielder.

Redman is a 187cm DEF ....a role we're not exactly short of on our list

ESS would be able to out-bid us on Contract Value ....and do we want to stretch our TPP, with a host of young stars expecting to get bigger Contracts ?

IMO, if we're going to stretch our TPP, it should be to cover a list deficiency ......a KPD

Michalanney & Worrell covers Redman .....who covers Butts ? ....CARL have the weaponry up fwd to expose us this weekend
Redman is a good Smith replacement & a free hit as a free agent. We absolutely should be targeting him.

I have heard Rachele is very happy living in Adelaide.

But if he were, a quality midfielder would be a priority.

Long way to go yet, but we’d need to pony up for Moir, right? I like the idea of spending up big this year to get a top 5 pick (assuming we don’t finish bottom five).

We expect to improve in coming years, so will be getting further and further from the top end of the draft. Time to do what Port did with Rozee.
I don’t know much about this draft re Mids, or whether Moir could transition into the middle, but his skills and being SA born… can we pass him up?

Agree on spending currency now. If we think next year is when we start to properly contend, we must be prepared to swap our first this and next year to get into the top echelon of the draft to find that elite mid.

Welsh is the cherry on top which makes the decision easier - we may have to trade our future first irrespective.

His home isn’t in Melbourne..

he’ll go to Melbourne if a Melbourne club puts a massive money deal in front of him and the crows say “we’d love to but we can’t match that”.. and you can be guaranteed there’ll be clubs that will be chasing him hard with big money deals.

He’s looking like an upgraded, and developing quicker, version of Connor Rozee…

Jordan Dawson is from Robe, not Adelaide...

how many elite players do you genuinely reckon spend their first 2-3 years in the seconds? Neither Cook or Nank look like getting a crack in our 22 without multiple injuries. The likelihood that either ends up elite is somewhere between slim and none. Can still forge a decent career, but unless you're a ruckman or key tall, then if you're going to be elite, you're generally playing 1s pretty much straight away.
Lol Mason Redman played 5 games in his first 3 years
