Picture this, we have #2 and WC have #3. Harley Reid is already being photographed with his North Melbourne polo.

Freo make it very clear we are taking Curtin with pick #2, WC really want him.

We arguably don't need to pick a tall back/giant mid with our existing stocks of big bodied mids - but the talent is there... do you leverage that WC really want him and extort a trade out of them to swap pick #2 and pick #3 like they will with North to swap for pick #1 to get Reid?

Would they swap future firsts with us to move up one place to take the exact player they want?

This would be the drama centerpiece of a stupid movie about a list manager starring Kevin Costner, but it would set up the next ten years of rivalry between Freo and WC fans.

Some clubs only taking 1 national draft pick

Historic low turnover is expected and under 50 national draft picks

Most clubs including bottom 4 and top 4 are happy with how their lists are, doesn't expect much movement at all


This does align with us only making 4 changes tbh

Next play is for Young to provide some content nominating a specific club, but if Henry says "I just want Melbourne Victoria and don't care which club" then it's not a terrible outcome for Fremantle.
